It's a well made indie homage to Max Payne. The art direction is pretty darn good, I am not a big fan of rap music but I can tell whoever made the music put a lot of effort into it and I definitely respect it. There is a decent variety of guns and they do feel different enough that I find myself switching between most of them throughout each level. The voice acting it really good - the voice actor for the protagonist did a particularly good job. My only real criticism is that it is fairly easy for the vast majority of the time and extremely repetitive while it does go on for a bit too long. It is good they made the chapters short so you can drop in and out and not play too much due to the repetitiveness of the game but I am finding it is overstaying its welcome and I am having a hard time finding the desire to finish it. If they cut out maybe a quarter of the game I think it would have landed much better. Still, it's a good game and worth a go if you like the Max Payne games.

All they had to do is make it like Grim Dawn where you could host your own server and your buddies would connect to you. I guess they figured they could police better and sell more from their MTX store this way and look how it panned out. Sure, it is good they have a fully offline mode but they also need to make local hosting a thing for people who don't care what so ever for interacting with people other than their friends and buying stupid crap from the MTX store. Hell, I'm sure they could still have the MTX store with the basic feature of being able to host your own game.

What a total let down. Don't buy this. Move along and play something that actually works.

I didn't like vampire survivors and someone said they didn't either but they liked this game. I was sceptical but got it for so cheap I couldn't say no. Well, it turns out I am really enjoying myself. I can't say what sets it apart from vampire survivors as I didn't play it much but I can tell you that this game is more fun. If you like auto shooters then this is a no brainer and if you're on the fence get this on sale and see for yourself.

Great puzzle game that just keeps getting better as you play. I haven't gotten to the truly wacky stuff yet but I have been having a lot of fun. If you like puzzle games this is definitely one of the best I have ever played.

Early Access Review
It's the only auto shooter I have ever enjoyed past the 20 minute mark. The inclusion of mining just hit the threshold for enough going on that it can keep my attention. I think I played like six hours of the demo and now about eight hours of early access and I can, especially for only $12 CAD, this game is worth every penny and pretty darn fun. They've launched with a super solid core of game play mechanics and three biomes. So, even though the launch content is good it is still quite thin for a game like this while I am sure more than enough content will be added before the launch and they say they plan to keep on going after as well. I very much look forward to future content and if you're a fan of these auto shooters then this game is a no brainer.

Now that the disconnection issues have been sorted for my buddy and I in the latest patch I can finally give this game a thumbs up. Although, there is still a bit of black screen flickering which only happens in this game for me so it has to be an FTK2 problem. I am sure there are some bugs here and there in the game but it seems to be generally stable, finally.

FTK 2 is pretty much like FTK 1 except instead of having a grand adventure you have a bunch of different smaller ones which are the different acts of the game. We beat the first act being level 8 (14 is the max) and now we have to start act 2 with new characters. I know the devs have promised more items in future updates but I really feel like this is more of a an expansion to FTK rather than a completely new game.

No matter the shortcomings, this is more FTK so I am really glad it is here and the co-op is an absolute blast. I am looking forward to finishing the game with my buddy and hopefully to future game updates that expand the content. I really also hope they add some grand adventure mode so we can get our characters to max level before the act is over.

Sure, it was a super rocky beginning but you can tell the devs care about their game and are working hard on improving it.

I can definitely recommend this game now. If you like turn based games then this should be right up your alley.

Update: Well, I've played a lot more since the original review and have one major grievance - the choice to make the otherwise grand adventure split into smaller chapters where your characters do not persist from one chapter to the next, despite the story continuing even referencing your past deeds, makes almost no sense to me. The only reason I can think of deciding to do this is to get people trying out more classes than they would have if the characters were used until they die. The problem is that this makes it so right when you get great gear and really find a party synergy it is all ripped away from you and you have to start it all over again. This makes the progression feel extremely stunted an I think is a major detractor to FTK2. Despite the many improvements in FTK2 over the original I believe that the original is the superior game simply because the character progression actually feels meaningful where FTK2 just cuts you off right when your character is really coming together. I think the non-persistent characters and chapter story structure are what makes this game worse than the original. They were so close to making a game that completely eclipses the original but then decided to knee cap themselves in a very strange and frustrating manner. So, yes it is fun and I am happy I bought it and am playing it but I don't get the satisfaction out of FTK2 that I did out of FTK2. I really hope they decide to remedy this and add in grand adventures with higher level caps as an unpaid update as that should have been in the base game.

Fantastic return to form after the dud of Trine 3. Happy they went back to their roots. The Trine games, barring 3, are some of the best co-op games available. If you love co-op, beautiful graphics, fun puzzles, light combat, and an all around good time then get yourself some Trine - but not the third one!

Definitely play with at least two people for the best experience and three is so much fun.

Final Fantasy VII is my favourite game of all time. I played it when I was in junior high and it was the most fun I have ever had playing an RPG. Everything about this game was monumental. The graphics, the scope, the music, the plot, game play mechanics - everything was so next level my young mind was blown. I played it on the Playstation so I was able to enjoy the truly monumental OST that's just as good as the game. I had beat the game maybe three times on the playstation and until recently it was firmly part of my past.

I always wanted to replay it in a modern sense but it's just ridiculously dated I didn't want to tarnish the memory. The new remake came out and it deviates from the story significantly and adds so much fluff to pad out a single game into three full games so I decided to not play it. Still, I wanted me some FF VII. The other day I read about a mod called COSMOS which upscales all of the background and world graphics while adding in extra art to make it truly widescreen. I thought I would just check it out for maybe 30 minutes and that would be that.

Well, I found 7th Heaven while looking into getting the COSMOS mods to work and it made it so ridiculously easy to download and configure a bunch of mods which now is giving me that remaster experience I have always wanted. I really feel like the modding community for FF VII is one of the most dedicated communities and I am enjoying the fruits of their labour extensively. So, the graphics and music are all overhauled but also the ridiculous amount of quality of life changes and enhancements are amazing like being able speed up time to not waste your life grinding through battles to level up and get that sweet dosh. I am currently playing with 12 mods.

Final Fantasy VII modded to hell and back is the definitive experience for me of the game and I am so happy I read that article that took me down this FF VII mod rabbit hole. I am now replaying my favourite game of all time just the way I wished it would be some day.

Also, The OST remake by FinalFanTim is absolutely phenomenal.

I am having so much fun it is ridiculous.

A bit too much walking around the facility but I understand why they did it. This is definitely the new Portal 2 and Portal 2 is now Portal 3 so these devs basically gave us Portal 3. This bridges the gap between Portal 1 and 2 and does so very well. I was also pleasantly surprised that the voice acting is done well.

This is definitely a thumbs up.
