The Dark Souls/Metroidvania/Uncharted/Tomb Raider mishmash doesn't work here. It's a decent game but ultimately not worth the time investment, 5/10.

Only major problem with this one is the price. It's too expensive for what it is, which as many have noted is essentially the last Homefront and Fallout Lite. The graphics are mediocre but OK, voice acting is OK, gameplay's fine, it can be a bit easy but that's not a deal breaker for me. Plus Jennifer's hot. And there's tons of references to the Terminator movies and other games. It is the best Terminator game ever, although the 2009 one wasn't bad. In any case, best wait for a sale on this one, it's not worth 30-50 bucks or the equivalent, more like 20 at most.

EDIT: has one of the most awesome final hours in gaming memory, really had me going and total wow factor.

Good walking sim/horror puzzler in which Alan Wake escaped to Mars and finds himself confronted by a combination of HP Lovecraft madness and SOMA black goo. Despite simplistic graphics and some performance issues Moons of Madness has merit due to occasionally challenging puzzles and good atmosphere. Anyone fond of sci fi horror should check this out.

Surprisingly good fun but a tad too difficult. Average zombie needs three M16 bursts to the head to go down, that's...overkill. But otherwise you just stand behind a wall and shoot at waves of zombies, some fast, some slow. Each wave is followed by a map scavenge phase where you balance wall repairs with looking for grenades, survivors, and weapons. The survivors then join you at the wall, but are largely useless and mostly stand there. As for weapons, UMP/Desert Eagle seems to be the best combo. For the price a decent buy if you like zombie games.

Looks and sounds like the Pinball Nation people made it, very similar character designs and the same excellent music. Has a lot of good conversations and interesting ideas. Sadly ruined by choice being an illusion. Most interactions lock you out of choices offered as the story funnels you in a specific direction. So if you choose A or B the game will say "no that will make you feel bad" or somethiang, then the choice will glitch out, and you're left with just one option you have to pick to progress. That right there defeats the whole purpose of Neo Cab IMO.

EDIT: had to change my opinion on this one. While some aspects like voice acting and overall story/mood seem straight out of a big budget release, after a couple of hours you start noticing the clunkiness. Animations aren't that great, controls feel inaccurate, and most importantly the hacking mini game gets annoying fast. That's a personal thing because don't really have patience for stuff like that these days, maybe you do. But for me after three hours decided to give up and move on. So not worth a purchase.

Previous opinion:
Pleasantly surprised. Obvious right away it's very polished, almost surprisingly so. Voice acting is superb. Hacking and turn based sneaking seem nicely implemented. Overall gives a nearly AAA impression, almost uncanny as it came out of nowhere.

Overall a good Soulslike with guns, which is what it is. Still its own game obviously, generally looks good and runs well, has good voice acting and some interesting lore. However, also carries a huge chip on its shoulder trying to prove its harder than Dark Souls, so you get bosses with tons of minions, hordes of enemies with limitless aggro ranges, getting chased to the bonfires so you can't rest etc. Many such small annoyances, but once you realize this one wants you to focus on crowd management it becomes OK. Bosses aren't too difficult, as there's tons of mini bosses to worry about. But checkpoints are very reasonably and fairly spaced, and the weapons are nice. This is a solid 7/10 and should be checked out by third person action fans.

Right off the bat not as compelling or instantly appealing as Her Story. Still worth checking out and does a good job of recreating/depicting apartment life with all that ambient noise. Trailers make it seem a whole lot more exciting than it is, from 20 minutes it's obvious you'll wade through hours of ho-hum video to get to the good stuff. At 6GB it's reasonably-sized, unlike the monstrous 40GB Erica on PS4, no idea why that one is such a huge folder. Anyway, check Telling Lies out, it's not bad but doesn't feel like the 9's everyone's giving it as of release.

♥♥♥♥ me, can't decide if this is brilliant or just sheer stupid. In any case it's a statement of freedom, no joke intended. You have a title developed in Japan by none other than From Software featuring a US president who slaughters countless thousands of American military personnel in the name of liberty. Now that's freedom of expression. Try doing a game like that except set in China. Yeah didn't think so. If you need a reminder of how wonderful liberalism and freedom are, play this silly game. Never mind the clunky gameplay, graphics that were bad in 2004, horrible sound quality, and ridiculous writing (although to be honest it's intentionally ridiculous and thus mostly good). Do it for freedom.

Played about ten hours on PS4 when it released and was craving it so got it again during the 2019 summer sale. There's no doubt it's a good game and the PC version runs fine now, but like Sekiro it's just an overly complicated take on Dark Souls with an intentional ramp up of difficulty. If you have lots of time and patience you'll probably get something out of it, plus the story is quite nice. Visually it's also pleasing. But the controls aren't responsive, many enemies (yokai notably) are waaay overpowered, lots of combos simply don't work when you need them to, etc etc. Same problems that were in the PS4 version. Unless you're an impulsive idiot like me and/or really want a challenge, stick with the much better Souls series.
