TL;DR : A good Tomb Raider game overall (from what I've played, knowing 2 chapters), but this game is way too buggy to be played on PC. I don't know if it's better on console but I really don't recommand buying it on steam.

Story / Setting
Tomb Raider: Anniversary is a remake of the first Tomb Raider game, the story is absolutely the same, but they did a good job at creating a game that is very influenced by the first one but not exactly the same with better graphics. I didn't finish the game but the story is really typical for a Tomb Raider game.

Gameplay
First of all: the reason I don't recommand it. The ennemies and certain parts of levels are simply not playable, its just too buggy. Most ennemies get stuck and there's not any challenge, I got to a point at a boss fight were all I had to do was shoot at it and wait for it to die. Some of the game mechanics are also very buggy, I often see through the textures and I couldn't access some areas. There's also this: http://i.imgur.com/Zg331C4.jpg . Which is pretty funny but became a bit annoying :p

Except that, it's overall a good Tomb Raider game, pretty classic. It's really something between the very first Tomb Raiders and Tomb Raider Legend. As far as I played, the puzzles and secrets were too easy, especially compared to early Tomb Raider games and TR Legend, but hopefully they become more difficult later.

Performance
Runned at very high fps on max settings (i5 4690 / R9 390)

Style / Graphics
It really looks like TR Legend, with obviously a TR1 inspiration for Lara and the levels. A good looking game.

TL;DR : Trine 2 is a platformer / puzzle game, and is one of the best coop games I've played. The game is gorgeous and runs very well, but the story is quite meh imo.

Story / Setting

Really wasn't the best part of the game, I'm not into these stereotypical RPG game stories. The characters and dialogues can be fun sometimes, but that's it. Maybe I wasn't paying attention, but I feel like the game doesn't even explain what the Trine is, and the backstory simply wasn't interesting. The content of the hidden chests disapointed me every time, but well, at least I got the achievements that went with it.

Gameplay

The game really shines when you're playing with someone, online or localy like I did. It can be fun alone but cooperating with someone makes it way better, wether its for the puzzles or for the combat. The only issue can be the point of view when playing multi, its not always easy to see some areas where things can be hidden, but it might be the same in single player which I haven't tried.

Overall the game is easy, a few puzzles took us a few minutes but that's it. If you really want to find everything in this game it'll be more about looking everywhere than solving hard puzzles. Some entrances can be hard to find. The fact that you can just rearange the skills of your characters made it a bit too easy as well. Same thing with the respawn system, you can die on and on and on and respawn a few meters behind, whereas the enemies keep all the damage you've done to them.

Some achievements are a bit harder and were the only real challenges in this game, but all of them were fun to get.

Performance

Wonderful graphics, even for 720p mid quality. it runned at 30 fps with these setttings which was enough for me in a game like this one (no need for high response time or super smooth gameplay like in a FPS)

Style / Graphics

It was probaly the best looking game I've been able to play on my laptop. Every map or areas is full of great lightning, creatures, buildings... etc.

TL;DR : An amazing set of original indie flash games, each single one has something great about it. Amazing gameplays, great music, some original stories, a great art style... A must have if you're into simple and quick indie games, and if you like other Edmund McMillen's games. Definitely worth its price.

The Basement Collection is a collection of different indie flash games, created mostly by the creators of Super Meat Boy / The Binding of Isaac.

Story / Setting

Most of what the games have to offer is their gameplay and art style, but some of these games have a really unique story. Meat Boy and Spewer barely even have one for example, whereas Coil is really story driven, even if its story is not really clear, and it requieres your own interpretation of the game. Time Fcuk and Aether's stories are present and interesting, but really aren't the core of the games. Finaly, if you unlock AVGM, I'd say that its the game that has the most meaning in the list, this game is litteraly a parody of other games and is only worth playing if you understand what the games is making fun of (or if you want the achievements !)

Gameplay

Trust me, there's going to be at least one game that you'll enjoy playing in there. Most of the games are hard to beat completely, like, really hard. Even if you reach the "end" of the game, there's going to be advanced levels or achievements that will take a while to beat and obtain.

I guess you already know how Meat Boy works, since it's basically the original version of Super Meat Boy (one of the best and most challenging platformer I know of). Spewer is an amazing platformer as well, but requieres a bit more tactics than Meat Boy. Aether is like... the smallest sandbox game I've played, it's fun to play and really is different from all these really hard games. I didn't play Triachnid much but it's gameplay is quite unique, even if I found it a bit boring after a while. Grey-Matter is like one of these old Starship arcade games, it's hard to describe. It was fun but I'm a noob at it :( Time Fcuk was my favorite one to play and has an awesome idea behind it. It requieres a lot of attention and reactivity, especially in the harder levels. I'd say that it's half puzzle, half platformer, it reminded me of Fez in a way. The only problem with it was the saving system, make sure you click "exit" on the right, under the person who speaks to you (no spoiler) so that the game saves your progress, and try to quit the game with the in game option (top left).

Performance

Knowing it's a flash game... the performance was pretty bad for what the games had to offer, but it was totally playable. I did have to lower my screen resolution to play Spewer and Aether properly, as the games were quite laggy (kinda like the first Binding of Isaac was, for me). The game can't be rendered by my GPU (because it's flash I guess ?!) and uses integrated intel graphics :( Probably won't be an issue if you have a desktop PC with more a more recent CPU.

Style / Graphics

As always with Ed, i'm not dissapointed. It's not as full of weird wonderful things as The binding of Isaac, but pretty much each game has it's own look and feel. Triachnid and Aether were especially enjoyable to play simply because of their art style. Time Fcuk wasn't especially nice visualy, (I know that the pixelated look was what was desired) but the game clearly isn't about it's graphics. Finally, the music. Wow. Danny Baranowsky is by far my favorite video game soundtrack composer. If after playing Time Fcuk, Meat Boy and AVGM, you don't have the melodies stuck in your head you must be deaf.

I would love to make some kind of funny review of this game knowing how weird and... original it is, but the fact that I paid about 10 times what this game is worth kinda demotivates me.

A must play if you want more of HL1.

Everything is as good: the fights, storyline, puzzles, stupid scientists, except maybe for the music (very repetitive and doesn't always fit what's happening...)
People usually consider Opposing Force as better, but both are great overall.

Basically unplayable: the game itself looks quite original and fun, but it's just so buggy.
- It runs like ♥♥♥♥, even on the lowest settings
- It doesn't let you edit the controls, which means I can't use a wasd shaped directional keys since I have an azerty keyboard. The only way to play was on the lowest 4:3 resolution I've ever played and by pressing w constantly while using the mouse to change direction.
- the few achievements I tried to get were buggy as well

If you can run it and have no issue, it recommand trying it, the beginning gave me a good impression. If you have the same issues I've had just don't bother.

The Wolf Among Us is a story focused quick time event / point and click game, and is by far the best game i've played from Telltale until now.

Story / Setting
This is clearly the best thing with that game, it's probably the most original setting I've seen in a game ever. Without spoiling, it's some kind of mix between Harry Potter, fairy tails, and a film noir.
I found the story amazing, and I'm glad I bought the game late enough to play all episodes in a row at once ! (I finished the game in barely 3 days).

Gameplay
The gameplay is the exact same as the other Telltale games I had played (TWD S1&2). It just worked a bit better here, since this game is more based on investigation than TWD, and it really fits with the point and click aspect. The combats, dialogues, and investigation are still great, but once again, the choices you have to make don't have a real inpact on the story... whatever you choose, the main story elements will stay the same.

Performance
Runs ok on my 4 yo laptop, even on high settings.

Style / Graphics
Once again, it's the exact same thing as what I was used before with the developer. I love it, it looks like an interactive comic or something.

Really one of the best single player game I've played, and the best narrative one for sure. I just hope Telltale starts focusing more on the player choices / story evolution, and does some more original games like it, and less series / video game adaptations.

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is a remake, and improved version of the original Edmund McMillen's and Florian Himsl's game: The Binding of Isaac.

Overall, I think this game is a huge improvement compared to the original, and was really worth creating, pretty much every aspect of the game is improved:

- Tthe game looks quite different thanks to a new pixalised art style. Some people will like it, some won't. I do.
- The game is even more full of S.H.I.T. Literally. There's poop everywhere.
- The amount of... pretty much everthing is extended: items, enemies, pickups, characters, challenges, levels, rooms... etc
- This title also has a better game engine, I have muuuch less game freezing issue with this one. It crashed once, but hopefuly the new saving system (another great improvement!) let me go back to where I was !
- There is now the possibility of choosing between 2 difficulties.

The only bad thing about that game is that THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BLOAT BOSS IS STILL IN THE GAME AND I HATE HIM SO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MUUUUUUCH.

I think this game is mostly destinated to the fans of the original game, fixing everything that had to be
fixed and improving it in every aspect.
Maybe the first one stays a better game if you want to start though, since it is cheaper and less complex.
