This game turned out to be surprisingly good for its age. Combat and gunplay feel smooth, and the special abilities and perks are easy to use and intuitively understandable. The visuals are also on point for a 2010 game. The story seems kinda silly, but I don’t judge, it’s all just fiction. The overall atmosphere is spot-on, with lots of notes and audiologs scattered around the levels to give you a sense of what was going on in the past. Hell, it even has some horror elements, with a couple of sneaky jumpscares that caught me by surprise.

On the downside, the game is so short you could finish it within two evenings (it took me a little under 9 hours, and I nose-picked every corner). It’s really a shame, because there's a decent variety of weapons, weapon upgrades, and perks to play around with. However, I don’t feel compelled to replay it just to try out different weapons or perk setups. Also, there are no subtitles, which is a minor inconvenience for those who like to play in English when it’s not their first language.

Funny thing is, I bought it back in 2015, and it just sat in my library until now, lol. Although it’s really short and the $30 price tag is kind of insane, you can grab it on sale and have a great time without investing much time or effort. When I bought it in 2015, I paid around $3. As of writing this review, it’s on sale for $9.89, which seems fairly reasonable.

All in all, a good game to waste a couple of evenings.

Come to think of it, I never thought to leave a review on this game, haha. Everything is said and done already. I think that it should be mandatory for every gamer to finish it at least once.

Personally, I love HL1 more in terms of the story, but HL2 is a masterpiece in terms of everything. It came out in 2004 and, to this day, looks fresh and relevant. It gave the world the Source Engine and set the standards for times ahead.

Truly a work of art.

Nice game overall, but it has some major flaws:

  • There's an issue with deck visibility, and in a deck-building game, it's crucial that your deck and discard pile are always visible.
  • The RNG is atrocious.
  • There are only two maps to play. If the maps were procedurally generated, the game would be more enjoyable.

Not worth $13 in its current state — maybe pick it up on sale if you're into this genre.

Wow! Brings back the memories of good old days on Kongregate.com. So glad that Flipline decided to migrate to Steam! Deluxe version is so neat, lots of improvements and I'm already lost in making Papa's pizzas haha. Worth every penny!

P.s. You HAVE TO bring Jacksmith here that's where I agree with everyone else. It's the best game in the series.
P.p.s. Sit Back and Relax Award 2024 because it really makes me calm and relaxed

This is not a DLC. This is an Expansion. I think I've learned the difference now. 10/10.

Cutest brawler ever. So cute I can't even! Not the best game however, got some issues here and there but still we had a lot of fun kicking dem fluffy butts. Team-based games are my favourites. Matchmaking is something else tho. Leavers, ragequitters and AFKs are all part of the experience. It could have been a lot better but it is what it is. I enjoyed it a lot and can definitely recommend it for the ones who love these types of games.

P.s. Important note: in-game store is purely for skins/cosmetics, so you can totally skip that since it doesn't affect gameplay. Although wearing nice rare or legendary skin makes you feel special. Sometimes :P

The game is so raw Bethesda is considering buying the whole crew.

Jokes aside, loved the first game, had tons of funsies with me lads and had high hopes for the sequel. Hope they fix all them issues asap including bugs, UI etc etc. My dudes described it all in full detail many times already so now we wait.

So I'm a returning player. I kinda started playing POE waaay back in the day when it was standalone, not on steam and only had like 3 or 4 acts which you had to complete 3 times in order to get to the highest difficulty. I quit around 2014 when they added chievos on steam.

It's 2023 and I decide to give it another go with my best friend who played the entire time. I started to suspect something when he told me to install 3 apps before playing (Path of Building, PoE trade and hotkey manager for using all flasks at once). After completing act 10 he goes "now, we've completed PRE-TUTORIAL"... that's when I realised that sh*t just got real.

GGG really did not waste time all these years. HUGE amount of content and this is f2p! QoL purchases totally worth it. Now excuse me, I gotta go. Have to spend couple of thousands of hours of my life to learn how to play on my own.

Fun little game. Beautful scenery in every biome, especially the paradise islands. Fun with friends but doable solo if you have a lot of spare time. Grinding for resources is a chore. I played with three other friends so we kinda managed to skip the grind because two of us usulaly went hunting/chopping/mining and the other two stayed at the base camp crafting/building/researching. Can't imagine how much time it would have taken to do it solo. I would suggest significantly increasing ghost helpers speed of crafting, building and gathering, at least in offline mode. Also the game doesn't punish you if you die (like, you loose a couple of items from your inventory which you can pick up when you return) or forget to feed your pets or gather crops etc. which is a good move imo. Anyhow, my friends and I had great fun with it.

P.S. I agree wtih kapula about the swamps, it's a pain in the you-know-where. Probably like in every other similar game with swamps (i.e. Valheim).
