I was really impressed by this game. It's immense atomsphere of post-apocalyptic city with no usual zombies aboard just made me forget about all the weak spots (and there are lots of them). Really deep immersion into the setting. You feel alone, scared and depressed all the time. As I already mentioned there are no zombies or aliens or any other fictional stuff. It is a sad grey quest through desolated concrete jungle filled with murderers, rapists and few normal people who are mostly busy with... well, dying. Some gameplay mechanics (such as stamina loss when climbing or suffocating on the bottom levels covered with dust) came out to be very good ideas for making the game closer to real life. Lack of supplies makes it more challenging - you won't be running around with pockets full of different types of ammo and various goods.

However, if we speak about the tech part, I Am Alive is far from perfect. I would say that the graphics are very avearge for a product of 2012. It feels more like a game of 2008. The makers did pretty bad job for a product that has been in development for like 5 or 6 years. Sometimes it felt like the they didn't put much effort in this title (especially when everyone were waiting for The Last of Us which came out a year later).

Anyway, I do recommend this game for anyone who likes post-apocalyptic settings. It has a unique atmosphere and is definitely worth trying.

Now that I have completed the game twice I think I'm ready for a review :)

You know, it must be really challenging to make a game with an over 20 year franchise history. There's always a chance that it won't be good enough for bunch of reasons.. hell, I myself didn't really like the previous Wolfenstein game though I'm a big fan of shooters. I grew up on id software games. Wolfenstein 3D and Spear of Destiny were among the first games I ever played and remain one of my favorites for the rest of my life. So I was really sceptical about this game but God knows I was wrong...

This game is really darn good. You understand that developers knew what they were doing from the very beginning, which means when you get to the main menu to choose your difficulty you realise that this trip is going to be veeery awesome. And it really is! Everything about this game is near perfect: plot, graphics, gore/blood, dialogues, cut-scenes, jokes, easter eggs etc. Even the main character, B.J. Blatzkowizc, is slightly resembling the old one despite all the modern graphics!

I can only point out two minor things which in my opinion mar the impression of the game a little:
- ragdoll behavior, which sometimes made me burst out laughting
- floating objects (seen two times through the game. I guess it's a common thing in modern games like Metro: Last Light)

Anyway this stuff is so rare that you just don't pay attention to it at all.

I recommend this game to everyone no matter if you fan of the franchise or not. If you are you will be pleasantly surprised and if you're new to the franchise then you'll enjoy the very well-made game.

And I enjoyed every second of it. 10/10

Well, at first I didn't like it. Minecraft graphics is not the one you dig right away... but after I spent some time playing this awesome Lovecraftian adventure I totally get the game. If you love H.P. Lovecraft you really should play Eldritch. It's very sad that we don't have a lot of games based on Lovecraft mythos. This game is pretty simple and defiitely worth a try.

This game is very cool and atmospheric, but buggy as hell. I'm stuck in Innsmouth in the jail with a guy who keeps repeating "what are we waiting for? lets go!" and stands still. This is really sad. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who love H.P. Lovecraft stories but the bugs just won't let you play. Big shame that a game like this is in such bad shape..

One of the best coop-shooters ever made. Also the best zombie shooter game.
