Dynasty Warriors: Story Mode (and it's good)

I'll see you when the X-TREME version comes later on.
That'll be when we can play as everyone we're used to playing as.

The developers are giving 100% of profits from this DLC to the Movember foundation.

Support men's health, get a cool moustache.
What's not to love?

"I WILL FINISH THE WORK CAPTAIN TITUS STARTED!!" - Malum Caedo; Proud Ultramarine

No more cliffhanger from the first game's story, essentially.

It's exactly what I expected it to be, some good ass Tekken.

More customization pieces when?

I'm not sure Liu Kang can save this game, the timeline's ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

MK1 feels like an unfinished beta, and it seems the companies behind it don't care and/or actively express mockery & sarcasm towards players & fans for their legitimate criticisms. This has gotten so bad that the larger community surrounding the game are in an outright revolt currently, feel free to check the game's socials if you don't believe me.

There's constant desync issues online. The character grind is absurdly slow. The gameplay is simple & already stale. The 'Invasions' feel entirely half-assed, and the content included does not justify lasting as long as each Invasion does. They nickle & dime you for costumes that are either uninteresting or worse versions of what past games had- don't get me started on the awful bodysuits & Netherrealm's snark surrounding them, I really could go on & on.

Without any real spoilers; there was great potential with the story mode and the big reset, but it's filled with nonsense and uninteresting high school level melodrama. Then it quickly fizzles-out & rushes to the out-of-left-field finish. The timelines ♥♥♥♥ has really jumped the shark, and I'm not alone in feeling that way. If you're really interested, I'd recommend watching it on YouTube as many have instead of playing through it.

Maybe they'll fix it someday, but for now it feels far below what many players including myself expected.
This review was written purely out of sheer frustration with the state of this game.

I almost forgot to mention this is a $110 game with the first pack, but it sure isn't worth that price at all.

Go play Tekken in a week, it's leagues above this game in almost every regard by the CBT & demo alone.

TL;DR: ♥♥♥♥ this game.

The Immortal Empires (2.0) update saved this game.
The Kislev campaign is pretty good, but the real meat & potatoes comes from countless hours in the sandbox.

If they manage to iron-out some more bugs & update old assets it'll be even better, but we'll have to see!

Don't let the name 'Vomitoreum' scare you off, it's a fun GZDoom game ripe with elements from Metroid, CastleVania & Dark Souls.

The main appeal of the game is the fascinating yet horrifying visuals, which I admit had me staring at walls, objects & whatnot more than a few times.

The game has a competent dark, albeit somewhat sparse story that manages to explain the dreary state of the world to a fair degree.

The gameplay goes from something akin to Metroid Prime in the DOOM engine, to something more resembling a 'Bullet Hell' title during boss encounters.

The music is a mixture of eerie ambient tracks, but gets much more aggressive during the boss fights.

The weapons have a good audible punch to them, and are rather loud by default.

Some criticisms ahead:
It's a very short game (Around three hours) in which you'll become overpowered rather quickly.
Circle-strafing with some jumping here & there will win you every boss fight.
The arsenal is limited & you can be subject to DOOM vertical aiming/auto-aim difficulties here & there.
There's potential to sequence-break your upgrade for the second weapon if you try a certain jump.
Figuring out where to go can be a bit obtuse at times, if you aren't used to checking DOOM maps for secrets you will definitely struggle.
There is a part with a very annoying mechanic later in the game involving a light source that follows you, I understand the limitations at play but it's hard to work with.

That all being said, it's quite an intriguing setting & it did not feel like a waste of time at all.
Very much worth my dollar spent.

Game crashed during a run where I had a ton of good items from the get-go.

This pleases me.
