Game is surprisingly fun, especially in the beginning when you're still trying to understand how everything works. Once you've figured it out and have actually realized that the Umas aren't as important as the support cards, it gets pretty boring.

I'm F2P and I've managed to make a general deck that I use almost on every Uma (the most important skills I go for aren't specific to running style or distance, most of the time) and I am now consistently winning the URA Championship and getting B+ veterans sometimes with SS speed. This is enough for me... which means I now have basically no reasons to keep playing lol, since I've achieved my goal several times at this point.

The one and only thing that keeps me logging in (for now) is that I'm saving up carats for a character that will be released in a few months. Once I get it I'll probably stop playing since the core gameplay has now become braindead easy and repetitive. Still, I've got my hours of fun, have discovered a cool franchise ("Umamusume The Beginning of a New Era" is a banger of a movie, go watch it now) and I have gained access to a whole bunch of memes I didn't understand before. All of which is why this is a positive review.

It's like Mario Odissey except it's moddable and doesn't cost €60 and it's not made by Nintendo and has great humour and has hats and has cats and has Yakuza Like a Dragon and up to 50 players and w̷̫̍̓̋h̶͔̤̭̯͉̆͝a̴̧̪̙̣͇̫̦͑̄̿̂̑ṫ̴̻̽ḙ̶͐̾̔̌v̸̢͓͈̈́̌͆͛̅͘è̶̺̭̝̹̈́́͜r̶̺̠̣̾͐̽͜͜͠ ̷͙̟̺͗̉t̶͙̞̿̉́͊̽͝ẖ̸̹̦̘͙̉͆̅͘͝è̶͍̫̯̆́́͘ ̷͉̦̠̫͖̮̀̏͐͒͛̚f̷̨̦̖̣͖̯͐͗̐͠ù̶̦̋̊̇c̷̖͚̪̣̫̪̻̑k̵͍͍̰̈́ ̸̛̻͍̭͈̺̂͗͌͑́h̴̟̤̻̮͌̀͆̈́͝ạ̴̓͆͋͌͝p̵̹̦͉̣̣̠͊̓̇̾͛̊ͅp̸͔̀̿͋̍͒e̷̲͒̂͆̇̅n̶̹̿ṡ̷̖̖̻͕͓̟͜ ̴̱̩͙̟̥̲̘̈͗͑̈͑̓̾į̴̗̪̬͎͒̿ǹ̶͔̋͆͝ ̸̹̖̮͍̣͍͗͂̾͒͠V̶̧̨̳̜̩̺̋̌̑̋̋̊a̵̤̅͊̀̍n̴̞͒̈́̊́é̶̻̗͍̰͒̄͊͑͘s̵̗̺̩̜̑͜ş̶̗̭̋͂a̵̳̼͊'̴̛̣̤͋̍̚͘͜s̵̜̳̠̓̚ ̵̨͔̜̖̳͇̔̇͌m̵̻͠ͅa̷̬͈̽̈̿͂n̶̙̗̓͒̋͊̐̚o̶̭̭̫̺͙͋r̴̛̘̠̦̱̐͑̍̄̕͝ :D

I remember hiding in some bush in front of a big road. I knew someone would try and cross it, I saw them do it before. So I lay down, waiting patiently, for minutes. Then I hear steps and soon after I see movement trough the leafs. I pull the trigger as hard as I can, spraying lead in their general direction. Then, dead silence: no movement, no sound, nothing. Cautiousely, I exit my hiding spot to check the situation. I gunned down three guys, their bodies laying there, 20 meters away from me, motionless. My hands start to shake, adrenalin pumping into my veins, the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thrill coating me like a warm blanket in a cold day. I've never felt more alive that in that very moment. There was only one word on my mind, "More".

Anyway, the game seems fine but I'd rather keep killing people in real life 😊

I bought this game after finishing Automata because the voices told me to do so and also because I wanted to fill my lack of knowledge about this title.

It felt boring at times but most of the time it was really interesting and left me wonder "oh ♥♥♥♥, what's gonna happen next !?"

If you, like me, liked Automata I'd suggest you to play this. The new ending is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing!

[Pod 042] Analysis: this is a work of fiction commonly referred as a "video game". It is been established that words can not fully convey it's quality level. However, data suggests that it was highly appreciated among individuals who played it.

[Pod 042] Proposal: user who is reading this review should play the video game immideatly.

I always liked the gloomy atmosphere of Disonored and Thief 2014: plague, sick people, rats, piles of dead bodies everywhere, some dark orchestral music, overhearing uneasy dialogs. A Plague Tale does all that and even better.

The are no words to describe how f*cking good the OST of this game is and how clever it is used in-game.

I also really liked how from time to time the game would push you to do something really f*cked up just for you to survive. It struck me how most of those choices were really simple actions but morally crushing at the same time. It also felt to me like a visual representation of the concept that our success is built on someone elses misery.

It's a pretty fun game if you mute the dialogs OLD REVIEW

In short (it's not really short):
- gameplay is better than it ever was

- there is a localized drops & enemy level option whitch is just amazing so you don't have to tell your friends "Dude I'd love to play with you but I only have characters that are too OP for your current level". And you also don't have to fight them IRL to decide who's gonna pick that one legendary weapon because everyone seets their own drops.

- music is pretty good except for that one song you hear during the final cutscene of the game which only makes it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cringe

- main story is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ garbage truck who's driver lost consciousness and it's currently destined to hit a group of middleschoolers at 200km/h, it's not really fun, unless you're looking from a safe distance while wearing headphones and listening to jazz music

- my wife ended our 17 years of marriage after watching the final cutscene of the main story

- I have played (and not finished) the Hammerlock DLC which was pretty good but it's hard to say because everything seems so much better after you've experienced the main story

- to be able to run this game in a half-decent kind of way I had to by an SSD and move the game on it cuz it was freezing every 10 seconds to load the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ textures

- this is way more a personal preference that the rest of this review but I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love it when I have to kill that one specific enemy for hundreds of times just to get the lamest variant possible of that goodass weapon I'd really like to have.
You have to do this every X levels of mayhem if you want to get to the higher difficulty which is just tedious, boring and time consuming because you'll be seeing a loading screen for like 75% of the time

- the drop rates are much better in this game then ever but you'll quickly realize that the legendaries that you often see are garbage

- this is tied to the encreased drop rate: I did an arena with my friends once, all rounds. At the end of it all there were so many legendaries that 1) the minimap was ♥♥♥♥♥♥ 2) the map in general was ♥♥♥♥♥♥ 3) my framerate was ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Just look at this[imgur.com]

- when playing co-op the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ usernames of you teammates disappear for an undefinite amount of time. This means that a) you'll be shooting your friends a lot because it'll be hard to tell who's not an enemy b) you won't be able to see if they're downed and where the ♥♥♥♥ they are so the only way is to tell them "ping underneath you so I know where you're crawling". This WAS an issue when the game launched on steam... this IS STILL an issue almost a year later, wtf !?

- the mayhem difficulty modifiers are just stupid. I liked the OP levels of Borderlands 2 but Mayhem levels in this game are just dumb, e.g:

there is a chance that when you kill an enemy it'll spawn a floating homing aoe orb of ice which will make it's way to your's ass location and spam frost novas while doing so and will also create an ice explosion when destroyed;

if you stay still a pool of lava will spawn under your feet;

when you hit an enemy there is a chance that it'll spawn a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ spinner trap which will continuously fire a laser beam;

your critical damage is reduced by 75%;

your elemental damage to enemies is reduced by 90%

This is not difficulty, it's just bs and sounds like "whatever, we'll just throw ♥♥♥♥ at you, negate your damage, clutter the map with random aoe damage and call it 'difficulty' "

UPDATE: get the REDUX mod to remove annointments and mayhem bs difficulty modifiers
