A thousand times better than Serious Sam. Dull, nevertheless.

I can't help it but to compare this one to Alien Swarm/RD. Well, this one is just different and I like it, which is great, because I needed a break from Alien Swarm.

UPDT:
This is a pretty cool 1-4 player co-op drop-in-at-anytime twin stick pew-pew with randomized levels/maps and 15 levels of difficulty that allow you to get used to the game's mechanics before jumping into the real $#1+. Also, lots of friendly fire and deaths from your own team (I haven't tried Magicka yet, but I heard that's how it is there too). Satiric voice lines, commercials, societal ultra-militaristic order/values, N@zi uniforms, upbeat music — all of this emulates the feelings from Paul Verhoeven's movie Starship Troopers. If you've got a friend who's wondering what to play, stop wasting time and get this game for him/her (it's cheap during sales) — you won't regret it.

"Spread managed democracy throughout the galaxy" / 1o.
"Democracy is life itself" / 1o.

I am accustomed to play the most demanding modern games with ugly graphics — if you're like me, then this software is your next purchase.

I can finally play Verdun & Tannenberg with acceptable framerate (~30-45fps @640x400) on my s#1tty Intel HD4000 iGPU.
The downside is that one cannot read the d@mn text of the in-game menus and chat.
If I play Diablo II, I can even turn on AA. Wow.
Oh, and you can force whatever window is scaled to your monitor's aspect ratio (force resize). Lovely.
Great piece of software. Thank you!

RPG wannabe co-op looter grindfest.

EDIT (6-Jun-2025):

After I wrote one honest review of mine that is a quite fair evaluation of the actual content (of both BL1 and BL2) and got dunked for it (happens a lot on my negative reviews; oh, boy, Internet people, when are you going to grow up and understand some basic truisms about life and humans... oh, that's right, never)... imagine my stupid grin (unfortunately, being amused by someone's misery/disappointment (a.k.a. Schadenfreude) is not an uncommon human reaction and I'm obviously not immune to it) after the "recent" publisher's behaviour that goes on from literally years ago.

(As I said, my BL2 review applies 100% to BL1 too.)

As I commented on one of my friend's updated review...
At some point in the future there will be an EULA that has a clause about mandatory, non-lubricated non-consensual anal sex.

It's a centuries-old situation... there's even a (quite old) book about it, written by a smelly bearded fat German who was reading too much of Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel's cr@p.

Consumers, enjoy the buttsecks!
Corporations, enjoy the profits!
Random people from the Internet who take offense when someone doesn't like what they don't like, give me more "Jester" awards!

EDIT (7-Jun-2025):
Some say "people always overreact and lack critical thinking". Hm... FYI: I know what "a rootkit" is ("malware", "spyware", and "rootkit" are not interchangeable words, unless you're involved in pure rhetoric/intentional lying/ignorance) and I've used ComboFix daily for my job 15 years ago. I'm simply taking advantage of the review bomb wave, because THERE ALWAYS WAS EVERYTHING WRONG WITH ALMOST ALL EULAs, ESPECIALLY THOSE OF VALVE, ACTIVISION-BLIZZARD, UBISOFT, MICROSOFT, CANONICAL, ETC.
Why do I always have to spell the obvious... this is so embarrassing.

EDIT (9-Jun-2025):
I almost forgot about how this lovely corporation destroyed my all-time favourite franchise by pulling out every scum move from the corporate scum playbook:

You're an engineer. With a gun. Chatting with a chick. Who's a cyborg. On a spaceship. Shooting aliens.
