Desert Yields Mod

Description
This mod grants +1 production to deserts so they aren’t just another blank tile on the map.

------

I personally feel the following things reinforce this modification in a small way:

- Regular desert tiles can readily be improved so easily, but they’re mostly useless until those improvements are at least enhanced via much later technologies.

- Alongside luxuries and strategics, deserts contain plenty of “bonus” resources, but these bonus resources are still undesirable and don’t really help as much (even when improved by city buildings) since the base tile yield is zilch.

- Desert hills yield just as much as other hills on Grass, Plains, and Tundra and aren’t useless.

- The other inhospitable terrain, Tundra, has at least a single yield.

- Creates more of a converse relationship with Tundra. (Cold/Food vs. Hot/Prod)

- Early Civ games contained 1 production (or shield) deserts.

- There is no 1 production terrain; the mod completes the quadrinity made up of Tundra, Grassland, Plains, and Desert.

------

Balance changes:

Deserts: +1 production.

Desert Hills: Unaltered; remains at 2 production.

Flood Plains: Unaltered; doesn’t receive +1 production.

Oases: Unaltered; doesn’t receive +1 production.

Petra: Bonus +1 production removed. Cost lowered from 250 to 185 which is the next common tier of values amongst wonders. Flavor values adjusted to suit.

Ouch, Petra is ruined. Anybody who downloads a mod for desert tiles to have production is obviously someone who likes production. Removing the bonus from Petra goes against the whole idea of such a mod. Now I'd rather just play without the mod where i'll go back to avoiding desert and when I can't at least I'll be able to build good Petra.

Actually removing +1 production from Petra is lame. I mean it's world wonder, it should give You somewhat edge against other... and now it become much worse. I mean previously You get those production also to hills, dlood plains and oasis, which let make desert really good location and now... it only works like changing desert tiles into plains, so kinda weak.
It wasn't that weak when it gives this production and food yield to all desert tiles, even if regular tiles were becoming like plains. But that was more of an upgrade to them, when they had no base yield.

To subscribers: I plan on revisiting this old mod and applying some additional balance tweaks once I finish up some larger projects (same goes for the jungle mod).

Well, to me it isn't (from a gameplay perspective), hence the mod. ; )

Yes, tundra receives forests to bump up their total yield value by 1, but deserts receive the same in the form of oases. Only, the bonus is focused onto 1 tile because it would look odd seeing many oases the way forests are distributed.

Deserts receive bonus, strategic, and luxury resources just like tundra.

Deserts can be improved just like tundra.

Desert hills provide the same amount of yields as tundra hills -- snow has none.

I could go on and get deeper...

"- The other inhospitable terrain, Tundra, has at least a single yield."
No. The cold equivalent of Desert is not Tundra, but Snow. Snow has no yields and is generally even more useless than Desert. Tundra can also have Forests, which the other two can't.

...I hate Tundra... in a recent game I founded my capital in Tundra and it ended up having half the population of all my other cities >_>
