Sebidee's Better Army Stances

Description

- Updated 25.09.2024
- Save Game Compatible.

Hello everyone! This mod has been updated!

Please also check out my new mods for Warhammer 3.

Hi guys,

This mod overhauls army stances in Warhammer and makes them better and more useful, yet also increases their negative effects. This makes the use of different army stances more tactical and you will need to be more careful in how you use them, but if you use them correctly then they can help you hugely in your campaign.

CHANGES
This mod adds and edits effects for all army stances for all factions including ambush, march, raiding, encampment, channelling, encampments, raiding camps, mustering, garrisoned, laying siege and the woodroots, beastpaths and underway. All changes have been made with attention to balance, logic and lore. The AI will also make use of the changes so as the player you will not be under or overpowered.

A full list of changes can be found in the discussion forum below, you can also see many of the new stances in the screenshots above.

I hope you enjoy the mod, don't forget to rate and leave a comment!

update for norsca please . -3 PO can't change
Tanaka 10 Jun, 2018 @ 2:05pm
Did you ever figure out the hidden -3 PO when raiding? This has also been driving me crazy to try and find!
MAG 20 May, 2018 @ 12:12pm
logybearskin use another effect with same result, eg wh_main_effect_public_order_characters
and set the dummy to zero to get somewhat consistent PO UI

its driving me nutz. I even made a mod changing only the Public order hit when raiding. no change. the effect stays at -3 even though the raid option in-game says it will cause -10... there must be a settlement effect that adds the -3 PO when raided, The effects_bundles_to_effects_junctions_table doesnt seem to actualy modify this mechanic.
Should have been tipped off when it says ...Public_order_hit_DUMMY" we need to find the what is actualy causing the -3 PO when raided, This is just the dummy value for the UI,

I did some poking around but I can't seem to find the problem with the raiding stance public order hit. It remains at 3 when the mod file changes it to 10. Someone else give it a go please???

Raiding stance (for beastmen at least) reduces movement range by 33% why? Since it only takes 25% of movement range to get into the stance, this just adds a pointless extra step of entering regular movement, moving, and then going back into raiding.

If I might make a suggestion, since norsca (top raiders) requre zero movement points to enter raiding stance, could you make beastment and chaos either require zero (since they are also raiders at core) or something much lower like 5 or 10%, and also remove the movement reduction?

Their lore/tactics definitely allow for them to be CONSTANTLY raiding, so it should be merely a choice between ambushes and raiding, without much penalty to them. Also, for a cool little addition you could make beastmen ambush stance invisible, since that would also fit their lore, but I'm not sure if that's overpowered. I think this would also make up for the lack of forced march stance for them, as that is a big hinderance.

hello ^^ I like your mod and found a bug. playing as the empire raiding causes -3 public order, when according to the description it should be 10

The vampires use their magic to raise undead and corrupt the land that way. That's how they spread vampiric corruption.
pleeb2 21 Jul, 2017 @ 8:35pm
Why would it be that Vampire channeling boosts their corruption, but not Chaos? I can see the the difference for the sake of gameplay; the undead are very much dependent on corrupting the land they're in so that they can keep their cities running, and so their armies don't fall literally to pieces. Chaos Warriors just pick up shop and travel all over the place.

Yet it clashes so much with what we've seen of Chaos, in any medium, in either Warhammer universes. When a sorcerer channels their magic, that means calling on demons and opening a rift in the warp. This leads the usual fiery skies, voices in our heads, walls bleeding... all the jazz we associate with Chaos corruption. That nothing is happening when the sorceror's are strengthening their power just feels... off.

Again, the two factions rely on their respective corruption very differently. They definitely shouldn't get the same buffs. But could Chaos get at least a +1?
