New City State Types

Description
Compatible: G+K only

Financial: get gold in your 4 largest cities. Note that there is a one turn delay for the effect to kick in. From the Modern Era onwards you get a small penalty if another civ is the ally of a financial city state! Adds a number of modern city states.

Tribal: rename of Militaristic. Adds a number of tribes (see below).

Compatability: favorable. Overrides DiploList.lua and CityStateStatusHelper.lua. In case of conflict with other mods: throw them out of this one; this will only cause the type display for Financial city states to fail in the diplomacy overview. The icon and the popup info remain correct.

Modular: You can easily remove either type, or individual city states, from this mod.

--------------------------------------------

Gold bonus (friend/ally) in your 4 largest cities:
initial effects: 1/2
medieval era: 1/3
industrial era: 2/4
modern era: -2 gold if another civ is ally

Financials: Bruges, Toronto, Luxembourg, Tapei, Dubai, Jersey, Qatar, Wellington, Melbourne, Hong Kong, Singapore, Zurich, Milan, Monaco

Tribals: (The) Ainu, Aborigines, Sioux, Navajo, Sami, Tuareg, Khoisan, Tupi, Mapuche

Others: Amritsar, Bagan, Bukhara, Cairo, Bogota, Great Zimbabwe, Lagos, Havana, Panama, Qufu, Kiev, Vilnius, Riga

Not a bad idea... but I won't be updating this mod anymore, sorry. Thanks for dropping by!

How about a Diplomatic State? It's a little far fetched, but it could basically give its allies more votes in the Congress than a regular City State would, and gve a few more votes to its friends.

It doesn't replace them. I orginally made this for vanilla, as part of the Uomo Universalis suite, before mercantile existed. Then extracted it as standalone for G+K, though as you say concepts overlap somewhat.

Does the fifnancial replace Mercantile? They seem to be similar concepts with different mechanics, which feels odd to me.

Could you make a tribal state of the Apaches???

It's the same. It's just called "Tribal" now and the city state names have been altered accordingly. Flavor, that's all.
