Space Virus

Description
A virus that was born when the Earth was young but was ejected when a major astroid striked the Earth. It has remainded dormant in an astroid for many millions of years till it crashed back down to Earth. Not use to Earth's new climit, it is weak but you can make it strong and powerful enough to destroy the Human Race. But it can do much more than that...

Btw this is set in the fututre :)

First of all a small asteroid would do basically no damage.
Secondaly it has been proven that organisms and viruses can survive these conditions.

Oh, I forgot one thing; Why does the virus need "fuel"?

So the fact that the virus was even alive for about 4 billion years is already strange, but I have other points I must make.

1. Shouldn't the virus be destroyed when the asteroid is re-entering (and possibly exploding) in the atmosphere?

2. If it managed to land, should it not have destroyed human civilization with it?

Sorry if I sound nitpicky. But other than that the scenario's good...ish.
