Transportation:(Players can build their own transportation line according to real historical process)

Railway:
Shimen-Changsha railway(1998). It goes from south to north in the city domain and turns accordingly NW and SE at Deshan station and Changde West station(Shibantan Town).
Duplicate line of S-C railway(2016), Changde-Changsha city express line(2019) were under planning in 2000.

Highway:
Changsha-Zhangjiajie Highway(2000), marches from SE to NW and encircles the SW boundary of the city. According to real history, we arranged two initial highway exits(Changde Deshan exit and Chande West Liuye Ave. exit).Realife G319 national road and West Liuye Ave. are represented with duplicated highway ramps due to map editor restrictions.
Hangzhou-Ruili Highway( north section known as G56, north to the city,2013) and Erenhot-Guangzhou Highway(G55, east to the city, 2015) were also being planned.

Waters：
Changde has been famous for her important role in southwestern China transportation. Entitled as 'Throat of Sichuan, gateway to Yunan and Guizhou', she served as an important transferring port on the ancient tea-and-hourse road for almost 1000 years.
Changde is rich in waters, among which the Yuanjiang River is capable of carrying 1000-ton or heavier cargo ship from Taoyuan county to Changde city, and was certified as a national 4th-class inland waterway. Resting under Baihe mountain(White crane mountain) to the north of the city, blessed by fresh air and excellent landscape, Liuye(Willow leaf) lake is considered a prospective a nationwide holiday resort. Besides, Chongtian(Skyrocket) Lake to the north east of the city also has its place among Changde's lakes. Unfortunatly in mordern times, especially after the service of Xiangqian(Hunan-Guizhou) and Jiaoliu(Jiaozuo-Liuzhou) railway, the importance of Yuanjiang River transportation has greatly facaded. Later, Huaihua tookover Changde's role as a transportation pivot. Meanwhile, like many other humid regions in south China, flooding has been a severe problem of Changde since 1970s due to poorly-planned agriculture and the succeeding sediment deposition on waterways.
Either to improve the river course with high costs, build a new Changde port and make Changde a great water pivot again; or to completly stop the outdated water traffic, put wetlands into reservation and make Changde a famous ecological tourist heaven, that's up to you!
In order to establish city connection, we deliberatly broadened the canal across Dafan Island.

Airlines:
Chande's Taohuayuan Airport locates SW to the city, near Taoyuan county. Although it is capable of hosting most domestic flights within China currently in 2017, it was tiny in 2000 . In this map, it is shown by 4 intersecting airlines accordingly flying to Beijing(N), Shanghai(E),Guangzhou(S), Chengdu(W).


Natural Resources:
Fertile land:
Most flood plain regions near Changde are decent arable land, making the area highly productive in rice and fish every year.

Forest:
Changde has a forest coverage of 47.98%, which wins her the title as 'National Forest City'. Forest resources mainly distrubutes in the north(Baihe Mountains) and the south(Deshan Mountains) of the city. Most of Changde's flora is subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest.

Mining:
Changde is rich in minerals, but in the area currently shown in the map, only several small hematite ore deposits were reported near Shibantan Town. There is no discovered fuel or gas resource near Changde.

Tourism:
Except Liuye Lake that we mentioned above, Changde also hosts the world's longest poem cameo wall in Shiqiang(poem wall) Park. Famous for A Note on the Peach Blossom Yard(《桃花源记》), one of the ancient writer Tao Yuanming's master pieces, Taohuayuan(Peach Blossom Yard) park in Taoyuan County is also a tourist spotlight. Changde has high potential to develop a tourism-oriented economy.

Summary
Generally, Changde is blissed both by natural and humanity resources. She makes a prospective central city in south west China. Up to now, Changde's municipal administratives are focused on both industry and tourist development, meanwhile puts great importance on ecological management. Ever since the dawn of mordernity, Changde has been challenged by transportation inefficiency. Earlier in 1990s, spending some 10 hours on a trip to Changsha (only 100 miles away) was not fresh news! Moreover, due to overly ambitious municipal and landscape construction programs lead by the local government, Changde is currently suffering lack of customers in some commercial zones, residential communities and public transportations, which left the local government considerable debt. With your patience and genius plan, I'm sure you can handle all these and bring us a better city!

About the modder:
I was a Changde resident from 1996 to 2011. Though unable to go home very often, my 15-year-long life in Changde left too many indelible memories with me. Changde is changing amazingly these years, she's more and more breathtaking and even me, a Changde native, could get lost in the city when I came back..
I'm sicerely waiting for any suggestions for this map. Insightful advices on geographical and municipal details are highly valued and welcomed! Hope people across the world could have a jouney to Changde once in their lifetime, and welcome!
