Team Start Locations

Description
This mod places two team players, human or AI, close together with the same resource start you see under normal circumstances. It works with the way the game creates the board. This means there is no specific distance you will be from your team member, but no AI civ will be closer to you than your team member is (see the additional notes for exceptions). Both of you will have a good resource start. If you want to compete with an AI team you can. The AI team will get the same kind of start your team has. We are not able to test how this works with more than two human team players. We know it works for two. We have no idea how it will work for more than that. If anyone tries that out, it would be great to know how it went. Feedback is welcome.


Additional Notes:
* This mod is not compatible with the YnAMP mod since they both override the same script.
* The mod has been updated for the Rise and Fall & Gathering Storm patch.
*The issue that caused problems with Civs that have a start bias has been fixed.
* City states are placed separately from civilizations and may end up between you and your teammate.
* This has been tested with AI teams of 2 and 3. Sometimes with teams of 3, the 3rd teammate ended up further away than the first two.
* It is possible that your teammate will be separated by ocean tiles since start positions are picked based on tile distance only.

It’s impossible for the mod to work now guys as Firaxis cannot code this into civ6. The code for this mod is also in BBS. It can force one team to one side but not guarantee that one player will be pushed across water and isolated by another team. This is a firaxis issue with Civ Vi and they aren’t willing to fix it.

Is there any way to make this work in multiplayer local hotseat mode? I ran the game with rise and fall + gathering storm and only this mod installed. We still get spawned on opposite sides of normal maps.

I was stupid as I didn't disable YnAMP even though it was clearly stated in description it isn't compatible. It works for me!

in a 2v2 mirror match ive had each person literally 4 tiles from the wrong team member on spawn and extremely far from the same team member

In 2v2v2v2 multiplayer some teams spawned apart.
