Description
Compilation of two of my older mods, Slink Master and Cone of Fire, into a new, War of the Chosen compatible package.

Rangers gain Implacable as a Squaddie skill in the Scout path, with Slink Master, a 50% detection radius reduction skill, taking its normal place. Rangers have an increased survival rate in the first few months, and if spec'd in the Stealth tree, can serve as substitute Reapers.

Grenadiers gain Suppression as a Squaddie skill in the Heavy Gunner path, with Holotargetting moving down a rank and Cone of Fire, an AOE Suppression ability, taking its old place. For WOTC, Cone of Fire gains a higher hit chance for the reaction shot if an enemy moves.

Only use this mod on new playthroughs, as the game will not accommodate changes to Squaddie level skills after your first soldiers are promoted.

Troubleshooting
If the changes are not generating in a new game, delete the contents of your config folder and start a new campaign,

If you like this, try out some of my other mods:
-Exclude Same Class Skills - avoid rolling your base game class' own skills in the XCOM skill tree.
-Rapid Fire Reverted - gets rid of the unmentioned cooldown on the WOTC version of Rapid Fire.
-Pistols Rebalanced - feel pistols are too weak to be of value? Try this out! Has experimental support for Primary Pistols.
-Crysis 2 Music - Listen to the epic score with the Music Modding System. Compatible with vanilla XCOM 2 and WOTC.-Suppression Weapons - get Suppression on base game, DLC/WOTC, and some mod guns.

Thanks for the reply. I don't want to change the order of Grenadier tree to anything but the vanilla order (only difference is Cone of Fire replacing Suppression). I subscribed to your mod and modified XComClassData.ini by removing all the Ranger stuff and reordered the Grenadier tree. I am subscribed to other suppression mods ([WOTC] Suppression Plus and [WOTC] Suppression For Suppression) and I hope that not only are there not conflicts, but that Cone of Fire is detected as Suppression by the other mods and is modified accordingly.

If you use Alternative Mod Launcher, you can edit the .ini file that controls the changes to skill trees. Just straight up delete the Ranger stuff.

That said, I don't think you'd be able to switch the Grenadier tree to whatever it is you want, because IIRC the skills might have hard coded level requirements.

Hi. Is there a WotC version of just Cone of Fire or just Cone of Fire + adding default suppression to all classes? AoE suppression is what I'm really looking for (I always thought Demolition and Suppression were crappy skills that needed to be buffed) and I'd rather not have all the other stuff (skill rank reordering; ranger changes).

The mod uses the same suppression effect file as vanilla, and the suppression ability you get as a fresh grenadier is the vanilla suppression ability.

can Cone of Fire apply the vanilla suppression vanilla instead of the custom one added by this mod? i have a lot of mods that add abilities that interact with suppression, and im afraid a different kind of suppression would mess with it.

Very useful reply ThatOneGuy, I'll try to adress that on my next playthrough, I don't use grenadiers, but the Ranger from this mod is a must for me.

Fixed my issue by unsubbing to "SWR Hidden Potential WotC". It changes class promotion data, I'm sure you could get it to work by comparing the edits done in grenadier and ranger but I just don't see it worthwhile personally.

Same bug as DvM4. Using this mod on a fresh campaign with config folder deleted and mod put at the top of the mod load order(was near the bottom-middle when this first occurred) before starting: Brigadier rank is now my new 8th rank with the abilities Squaddie should have from this mod(Implacable, slash, launch grenade, suppression), while Squaddie just has vanilla abilities. For both Ranger and Grenadier only, no other changes from this mod appearing such as slink master or cone of fire etc. Not sure what's causing it, I'll just list what I have that changes abilities, promotion screens/armory, or anything like it:

" [WOTC] New Promotion Screen", "[WotC] I'm the Commander here", "[WotC] I'm the Commander here Extension", "Blademaster Momentum", "[WOTC] Train from Armoury", "View Locked Skills - Wotc", "Commanders Choice", Collateral Demolition Wotc

Yeah, so i can't get this to work. Everytime i try, the mod just doesn't work, or the perks get scrambled, with the brigadier rank popping up on the end of the tree.

Already tried moving the mod to the top of the load order, but no change. A shame, it stopeed working for some reason, used to play a lot with these balances.

Is there a rpg overhaul mod that makes this work with rpg overhaul?
