NE L.A (with highways)

Description
North East L.A

This map is roughly centered on Cypress Park. It stretches north to parts of Burbank through Glendale, east to Pasadina, west to Hollywood and south to downtown LA. All highways are included, which are mostly 6 lanes in each direction. Most of the rail lines are included, as well as the Piggyback Yard which is south of Lincoln Heights.
The river is fairly slow moving and i would have liked to add the LA viaduct with the map, but it was not possible.
I will be creating a standard road map as a saved game and shall include the viaduct then.

It's been a long time since i built this map. I think the problem is that the Map edges don't recognise 4, 5 or 6 lane roads. It only seems to like 3 lanes or less. I'm pretty sure that is the problem.

I have a question (not to be rude), but why do the vehicles only go in 2 highways?

Thanks a lot Alex. I'm glad you like the maps. I was a late starter, but found that i really enjoy map making. It's only been the LA region so far, which i find is filled with interesting natural features. I'm building a city right now, on my Orange map, but will look at creating another map soon. Thanks for the advice regarding the outside road connections.

You're now my favorite C:S content creator!

@Jensoo If you want to get rid of the small outside highway and rail connections, subscribe to the 'Move It' tool, then in-game select all roads and click the delete button. You might get an error message but just click close until they disappear. Hope this helps!

All good Jensoo. It's best i change it sometime soon, for the good of everyone who uses the map. I'm glad people like this map. I only wish there were no object limits, as you could add an LA downtown and stretch all the way up to Glendale. The Roadmap version also have the LA viaduct all built with a large road system, if you want to save all the road building.

It's not really a big deal, I just wanted to tell you. :) The game didn't let me modify or delete the outside connection so I have these tiny odd ends at the edge of the map. But I just build around them. I hope you can imagine what I mean. :D

The problem is that the map edges don't seem to recognize 5 lane or 6 lane highways from Network 2. That's at least what i think it is. On my new maps, even though i am using 5 lane highways, the edges are changed to 3 lanes. What i think i will have to do is go back into the map editor for NE LA and change the edge connections. That should make it work. I'm really only finding this stuff out by trial and error as i progress.

Even with unlimited outside connections mod only four outside connections are working. I had to rebuild all other highway connections. Is there another mod needed for that?

Great. Glad you like the map. I'd like to see your city on it, if you post it to the Facebook group. The Orange map does have a couple of rail lines. One goes north to south with a spur and another one goes east to west.
I think Vanilla Rock is pretty good, but had i known earlier, i definitely would have used Owls LA theme.
