It's been a long time since i built this map. I think the problem is that the Map edges don't recognise 4, 5 or 6 lane roads. It only seems to like 3 lanes or less. I'm pretty sure that is the problem.

I have a question (not to be rude), but why do the vehicles only go in 2 highways?

Thanks a lot Alex. I'm glad you like the maps. I was a late starter, but found that i really enjoy map making. It's only been the LA region so far, which i find is filled with interesting natural features. I'm building a city right now, on my Orange map, but will look at creating another map soon. Thanks for the advice regarding the outside road connections.

You're now my favorite C:S content creator!

@Jensoo If you want to get rid of the small outside highway and rail connections, subscribe to the 'Move It' tool, then in-game select all roads and click the delete button. You might get an error message but just click close until they disappear. Hope this helps!

All good Jensoo. It's best i change it sometime soon, for the good of everyone who uses the map. I'm glad people like this map. I only wish there were no object limits, as you could add an LA downtown and stretch all the way up to Glendale. The Roadmap version also have the LA viaduct all built with a large road system, if you want to save all the road building.

It's not really a big deal, I just wanted to tell you. :) The game didn't let me modify or delete the outside connection so I have these tiny odd ends at the edge of the map. But I just build around them. I hope you can imagine what I mean. :D

The problem is that the map edges don't seem to recognize 5 lane or 6 lane highways from Network 2. That's at least what i think it is. On my new maps, even though i am using 5 lane highways, the edges are changed to 3 lanes. What i think i will have to do is go back into the map editor for NE LA and change the edge connections. That should make it work. I'm really only finding this stuff out by trial and error as i progress.

Even with unlimited outside connections mod only four outside connections are working. I had to rebuild all other highway connections. Is there another mod needed for that?

Great. Glad you like the map. I'd like to see your city on it, if you post it to the Facebook group. The Orange map does have a couple of rail lines. One goes north to south with a spur and another one goes east to west.
I think Vanilla Rock is pretty good, but had i known earlier, i definitely would have used Owls LA theme.
Jensoo 20 Nov, 2017 @ 10:20pm
I already wondered why you didn't use OWL's theme. I startet the map with it and looks really cool. :)
Jensoo 20 Nov, 2017 @ 10:19pm
@j_nobbs: I've seen that on Facebook. I even searched for it in the workshop because I thought I might have missed the upload. :) I will definitely subscribe to this one, too. I also spent a week in Orange County shortly. Too bad, Irvine is not included in your map. Is the Orange County Line included, the railroad connecting the area with LA?

Thanks a lot Jensoo. I've now just completed my third map of the LA region. Uploading as we speak. It's called Orange California, but i am having some silly thumbnail troubles lately. Silly little problems. Also for my next map i think i will use Owls Los Angeles Theme, rather than Vanilla Rock. I'm having a lot of fun building these maps. Orange takes in Anaheim Stadium and the huge Orange Crush Interchange as well as a lot of back country hills and some lakes.

This map is superawesome! I've been to LA two weeks ago and can't wait to build around the highways I was stuck in traffic jam. :D

Cool, that's good to know. I still uploaded a map without highways. Glad you like the map. I also created a roadmap as a saved game under the same name.

It's all good. I tried loading the map even though I don't have MT and it worked just fine. I love this map! No need to re-create the map just for those who don't have MT. And great YouTube channel! Keep up the good work!

I advise people using this map, to replace the river with the shallow thinner canal, to replicate the LA Viaduct. Using Extra Landscaping Tools, you can set the correct water flow rate.
j_nobbs  [author] 4 Nov, 2017 @ 1:35pm
Ok, i have created a map with no highway system. The only thing it has is 4 or 5 highway start points and some rail start points. It has one rail and one highway running to a mid map start tile. I'm uploading now.
j_nobbs  [author] 4 Nov, 2017 @ 12:55pm
Thanks Alex. I asked a few experienced map makers about this and they said i have to re-create all the highways with non MT roads. I spent ages getting these highways looking smooth and accurate and could not bear doing the whole lot again. I deliberately used 12 lane highways to replicate this part of LA. One option is for me to upload the map with no highways, except some standard map connections.
Incidentally i have created a new map called East San Gabriel Valley, except it also requires MT. I do rate MT fairly highly, so it is worth purhasing if you are unsure about it. I'm also fairly happy with Green Cities. The residential and Commercial are especially good.

Please, I'm begging you to create a non-mass transit version of this map. It's a beautiful map, no doubt and that's why I'm politely asking you. :steamhappy:
Cpl. Navarro 3 Oct, 2017 @ 9:45pm
How about you delete Mass Transit and just upload the map again so not everyone has to have the damn D.L.C pack. Out of all D.L.C you have to upload with the one I don't have lol.
j_nobbs  [author] 2 Oct, 2017 @ 4:37pm
Yes it requires MT. I still have not created the non MT version. I'm not even sure how that would work?
Cpl. Navarro 2 Oct, 2017 @ 2:25pm
DO I NEED THE MASS TRANSIT DLC BECAUSE ITS NOT WORKING FOR ME?

It was great to watch your posts as you went through the stages of creating this!! Thumbs up! :)

Yes ok Mobio. I intended to, but loaded it up late and went to bed.
Mobio 14 Sep, 2017 @ 3:42am
Could you do a non Mass Transit version? Using only NE2 :)
