Ocean Sims

Description
Water Simulation Models! Made in blender using the ocean modifier, exported out of blender using BST.

Each model contains 120 frames of simulation (for 24 FPS), but they will work at higher FPS's just fine, since their vertex animation is being driven by a curve and not steps.

Let me explain: This vertex animation is using bones. Specifically, the vcabone that BST set up for them. When this bone is transformed on the Z axis, it runs through the vertex animation almost like a timeline. (If you go to import a sequence, you can simply import the animation)

Now, while the models cannot be looped realistically, they CAN be tiled. Since blender's ocean modifier is noise based, these ocean models can be tiled side by side at the corresponding sides.

You're also not specifically limitted to 120 frames of simulation per shot. You can use keyframes to make the simulation slower, for instance. You can move it around and rotate it to get more variation out of it as well.

I've included 5 different skins as well. See the image slides above to see each.

the custom cubemap skin uses a very simple two sided cubemap I made. It has a front and back white light. I highly recommend either making your own cubemap or getting proper light cubemaps if a current configuration doesn't suit your needs.

You can also manipulate their colors the same way you would with a hat. Simply add an override material and it'll be in element viewer - but if you want control over the envmap tint, you gotta add that attribute manually.

There's lots of fiddling involved with these, so knowing your way around material overrides will give you lots of control with these.

The animation for this breaks upon reloading a session. It works fine on spawn, but as soon as you reload the session the animation is broken and wont work.

This model without fail will break your session if your not careful, Scaling it in any manner causes your session to be unstable and sometimes just having it in your session sometimes will just straight up break it. Shame as its the best water model out there. :/

@zerrek the dog

Look at the sequences for it, you'll find it there.

You say import the animation, is there an animation available or is it something you have to make yourself?
