Description
Civil Auras adds several abilities for sharing civil ability bonuses with party members.
All items are sold at the traders listed below.

Definitive Edition Version
CA has evolved into Bartering Tweaks. Get that here:

Changelog[github.com]

*New*
A settings book has been added. Use this to disable barter sharing, enable auto-sneak from the stealth aura, and fix common existing save bugs with debug commands (CA skills disappearing and the skillbooks not working, vendor items not showing up). The book will automatically be added upon loading an existing save game, or starting a new save.

Skills Added:
  • Lucky Aura - Applies "Lucky" to allies within 50m, sharing your Lucky Charm bonus. Disabled in combat. Will auto-refresh when equipment that modifies Lucky Charm has changed. (Requirements: Lucky Charm 2)
  • Stealth Aura - Applies "Stealthy" to close allies, sharing your Sneaking bonus. Only usable while sneaking (sneak together!). Also auto-sneaks controlled party members if within range of the aura. (Requirements: Sneaking 2)
  • Pep Talk - Motivate a targeted ally, granting your Persuasion bonus until dialog ends. (Requirements: Persuasion 2)
  • *New* | Persuasion Aura - Applies "Persuasive" to allies, sharing your Persuasion bonus. (Requirements: Persuasion 4)

Passives:
These abilities are always active. No skills required.
  • Mercantile (Party-Wide) - The highest Bartering bonus in your party will apply to all members when trading. Can be disabled with the CA settings book.

Additional Items:
  • Pet Pal Talent Book - Teaches the user the Pet Pal talent.
  • Cat Bait - Lures the Black Cat to your location. Useful for when you lose track of where the cat is.
  • Cat Bag - An item to transfer the cat summon between party members.

*Important*:
  • Barter Visual Bug: When trading with your currently controlled character, if their Barter isn't the one being shared, the tooltip won't reflect the proper barter amount until you switch between characters in the menu - This is just a visual bug. You'll still have the right discount.

  • Items will be generated when trade generation happens, after leveling up, and on the first load of an existing save, if the items were never generated before.

  • If loading the mod on an existing save that previously used Civil Auras, try re-ordering your mod load order to force the game to rebuild the story. This should force the changes to load. You'll be able to tell it worked if the game takes a little longer to load the first time (that's when it's rebuilding the story).

  • Using CA with Crafting Overhaul seems to hit some sort of weird engine icon limit, causing icons to go "blank" when certain conditions are met. More on that here: Blank Icons[larian.com]. The items still work - just occasionally they may go blank if you have a large amount of CO items mixed with some of the CA books. An easy workaround is to store your CA books in a backpack. Should be fixed, according to the latest patch notes.

Traders:
Act 1
  • Nebora (Fort Joy Blacksmith)
Act 2
  • Tarquin
  • Trader Bree
Act 3
  • Trayde the Merchant
ARX
  • Cat the Appraiser

Additonal Traders:
Act 1
  • Kalias (Fort Joy Caverns, Warfare Vendor) sells Phoenix Dive at level 4+. Personally, I miss having this ability in Act 1, and putting points into Huntsman just for Tactical Retreat gets old.
Act 2
  • Trader Thun sells an extra Cat Bag.

Additional Information:
  • No base game edits are made, making it compatible with other mods.
  • Civil Auras doesn't override any trade treasures tables - It adds to the trader's inventory dynamically, when required.

@aikistan That's because this is a Classic mod! Bartering Tweaks is my DE evolution of what this mod is.

Does not work with DE.

Originally Lucky Charm was only shared between your own characters. I believe Larian eventually updated this so it's shared between the whole party now, even in multiplayer.

@LaughingLeader I'm pretty sure Lucky Charm is Party wide now, but only to YOUR party. I don't think it applies to multiplayer partners, either online or local. This is going off forum posts and my own experience so I could be wrong. Shame if it's true, because your original mod was a necessity imo, made the game much more streamlined and playable

@LaughingLeader Didn't know that, thanks for the info

@kaboosewashere I actually went with solely bartering and persuasion in my DE follow-up mod, due to Lucky Charm being shared automatically when you loot things. That should work in multiplayer now too.

I saw that you have updated some parts of this mods as seperate mods for DE. Are you planning on doing a Lucky Aura mod for DE? It is such a pain to play co-op without it

All right.
I read something about only select modders getting the tools early, and the rest have to wait.

This is a DOS2 Classic mod, so nope! DE mods will have "Version: Definitive Edition" at the top.
