Why to seek monochromatic perfect circle emoticons, when there are squares? There is good reason. Both can serve very different functions. Squares will be irreplaceble in pixelart style, and horizontal and vertical lines or shapes will look perfect. But when you try to make diagonal lines, curves or a circle shapes, those color dots will do much better job.

Here is example that have diagonal line and curve made with squares:










And the same picture, done with same color emoticons, but circles:










As you can see, diagonal lines look much better when made with dots, and round shapes are much more round. Another benefit would be tiny spaces between them, because if you use circle emoticons in comment, Steam gaps between rows will become less visable for the eye.

Unfortunately some of the emoticons are not avaivable on the market anymore, and can be collected only via trade, but the list is full of similar color dots and there is a replacement for almost all emoticons that are near impossible to get.
