Witch Elves Damage Buff

Description
Updated for Silence and Fury!

This small mod significantly increases the Armour-Piercing damage of Witch Elves. While it does not increase their total damage, the percentage of AP damage that they do has been massively increased, meaning they will perform much better against heavily-armoured units.

Vanilla Damage: 23 Base, 9 AP
Modded Damage: 12 Base, 20 AP

I made this mod because I feel that the Witch Elves are a very cool and iconic unit that I wanted to use in my endgame armies in campaign. Having a lot of AP damage allows them to get a lot of kills even against enemy elite units, who often have high armour, thanks to the Witch Elves high offensive stats. That said I cannot honestly say that this mod is particularly well balanced. This mod is more for fun and I do not always use it in my campaigns anymore. Still, I hope it brings some of you joy as you slaughter your way across the High Elves' magic doughnut!

If you liked using this mod then consider using my other mod Sisters of Slaughter Damage Buff which buffs Sisters of Slaughter in a similar manner. These two mods together might make for an especially entertaining Helebron campaign!

Updated for current patch. It's been over three years since I made this mod and in hindsight I think it is overpowered. I would probably nerf it quite a bit if I were to remake it, but I decided to update it as is for those of you that enjoy the mod in its current state. :)

The ideal solution would be if there was an elite version of Witch Elves, like the Wood Elf Bladesingers. However making a new unit is so far beyond my capabilities that it is laughable, and since I do not believe such a unit appears in the lore I doubt any will be added in DLC. Oh well.

Yeah, sorry to hear that. Unless CA fixes their launcher (the old launcher handled updates fine) then there's nothing I can do short of uploading the file as a new mod every time they patch the game, and I am not sure I want to do that.

Hi. So far as I know I am still unable to update my mods. I have heard suggestions of work arounds such as including an image in the .pack file to change the size but don't know how to do that, since I am a noob. On the bright side this mod only edits one entry in one table so it should still work for anyone that downloads it despite being marked as out of date. On the down side I can't make any balance changes. But if you like the mod as advertised the downloaded file should work. The only possible conflict is another mod that change Witch Elf damage.

You should be able to access it again now. Just an error on Steam's end. Thanks for letting me know.

@Dad - The Witch Elves already do a lot less damage than the Black Guard of Naggarond or the Har Ganeth Executions, and have a lower bonus vs infantry besides. I don't personally feel their overall damage needs a nerf, especially considering how fast they can be shredded by, well, anything. 5 armour isn't gonna get you very far if the enemy pays attention to you. Even shit tier skirmishers can waste a unit of Witch Elves. Thanks for the feedback though, I appreciate balance suggestions. :)

As far as the mod not working, it is working for me at the moment (just tested it), and you are the first of over 100 users to complain, so it is probably a mod conflict on your end. I appreciate you bringing it to my attention though, so I could check.

Well, it would seem the mod doesn't work at all.

You may want to tone the AP damage down just a tad. When other units have an AP variant, ie greatswords, they have slightly lower overall weapon strength to compensate for the true damage that's being done.

But those are just my thoughts based on looking at this, I'll give it a shot in a minute.
