Sisters of Slaughter Damage Buff

Description
Updated for Silence and Fury!

This mod increases the percentage of Armour-Piercing damage that Sisters of Slaughter do, letting them tear through armoured enemies more effectively. It's quite a substantial buff to an already strong unit, maybe a little overpowered, so be careful if you end up on the wrong side of their vicious attacks!

Vanilla: 27 Base, 11 AP
Modded: 19 Base, 19 AP

If you like this mod my Witch Elves Damage Buff mod might be a good companion! It buffs the AP damage of Witch Elves by a large amount! I make no promises about balance though!

Updated for latest patch. Didn't have any reports of problems, but it should definitely work for everyone now lol.

Good point indeed! Other than ranged or large units, some spells weak against armoured units work great on them too.

I wouldn't be surprised if a nerf was incoming. It makes sense they might make a new unit OP to try to live up the hype and than balance them more carefully after release. But I also wouldn't be surprised if we don't see a nerf. I think Warhammer's balance is carefully based around how a factions as a whole performs against other factions when restricted by the multiplayer army costs, rather than how individual units match up 1v1. When you use an unlimited budget balance breaks down. In a MP situation you'd have limited funds and limited numbers of SoS and would be sacrificing somewhere else to buy them. The enemy player would know the threat the SoS represent and be expected to use their ranged or large units to counter them rather than trying to beat them with infantry. At least that's what I think might be happening here. Thanks for your insights!

That's good to know. I haven't tested that extensively so most of that is news to me. I love that their speed makes them a better counter against SoA than heavier DE infantry though. Still SoS are supposed to be a defensive unit according to their card and are slightly cheaper than Executioners so their unmodded base stats might need a nerf. Their "Defender" trait implies they are designed to pin enemy units in place so other DE unts (of which a bunch are good at flanking) can secure the kill. If they just kill the enemy outright they are probably objectively overpowered for that role and need a nerf or a price bump. Maybe CA's opinion is that countering them with infantry is a poor choice? For example most shock cavalry (Grail Knights, Dragon Princes etc) perform poorly against armoured elite like Chosen but would slaugher (heh) the Sisters of Slaughter with a charge, since they lack armour and charge defence.

Np, I know it's for fun. Btw I've been keeping doing units test since this DLC was out. Sisters of Slaughter with their current stats (without your mod) could beat any melee infantry unit except The Chosen, Swordmasters and Ironbreakers (their bombs do so much dmg to sisters), against Excutioners is 50-50. Speaking of HE archers, Sisters of Slaughter is the only infantry unit among DE that can apporach and defeat Sisters of Avelorn while withstanding their fire power thanks to the shields and speed. They are really amazing. Thanks for the mod anyway.

It's for fun, not for balancing purposes. Besides, who else will beat the Swordmasters? In my experience HG Executioners usually lose 1v1! Thanks for the feedback. I will keep it in mind for any future updates to the mod. I just wanted to get something out quickly to use in my Hellebron campaign. Hopefully if anyone else feels the buffs are too much they will share as well!

Anyway Phoenix Guard are anti-large units. Don't use them against enemy infantry if you can help it, it's a waste. Also try weakening Sisters of Slaughter with your ranged units before they close to melee range. They have a shield but no armour or missile resistance. High Elf archers should do a lot of damage to them.

These crazy ladies could beat Phoenix Guards already, yet you buff them? Lol why not? Now I believe they can even beat Swordmasters.
