Description
This is a particle modification, based on videos and real life shots, I wanted to do with the effects with a more accurate but less beautiful realism.
In Insurgency, if you look at how the original weapons of the game look, almost all of them have what is known as "muzzle brake" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muzzle_brake something that should suppress the fire in shots (mostly in automatic mode) of the weapon to simple gases and even so the majority of ammunition nowadays are to propulsion of these same ones for which in current weapons it is very little common to find an effect like those that we see in movies of action.
Here's a comparison to make you look better:
With the muzzle brake: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsDNpoXxWCA
Without the muzzle brake: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xY3H237EAa8

However, based on the design of the original weapons I found that there are exceptions, such as the H&K MP5k, the two shotguns and the M249, which although the effects of muzzle were not eliminated if the brightness, size and intensity of these were reduced, based on real videos of these weapons in action.

Note: This may not work on most multiplayer servers with sv_pure 1 and does not remove the small glare on the barrel of third-person weapon models when shooting during combat,
If this doesn't work as it usually does, go to
Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\222880\1172748221
Copy the vpk file without the cache to
Steam\steamapps\common\insurgency2\insurgency\custom\workshop

Common questions:
This modification has the sparks in the shot like the mod of Ark?
-
No, with respect to the mod of Ark, it is a mod that I recommend since instead of modifying particles it modifies the materials that use them so you will be able to see it more commonly when playing in multiplayer servers, the reason why I don't put sparks in almost any weapon is because they are a sign that the weapon should not be used until maintenance, the exception here is the TOZ 194 weapon, which apparently is not manufactured anymore since the end of the Soviet Union.

Can this mod be considered a cheat or something similar in night maps? Because the original effects limit vision when shooting at night vision
-
No, if you want to limit the vision, the mod increases the duration of the gas of the particles before disappearing and increasing its size, obviously not exaggerating, besides that the flashes give very well the position of the enemy in those conditions and even so, the weapons mentioned as exceptions do not produce that brightness on the screen when they are fired, because that does not happen when a weapon without muzzle brake is fired during the night, if you want to check it out on your own watch this unique video that shows it from ISIS called "Hell of the Apostates"
https://forum.deathaddict.com/threads/isis-rounds-up-apostates-and-executes-them-hell-of-the-apostates.3896/
although I must warn you that there are real death scenes in this one.

EDIT: There is also something that is easy to confuse with the already mentioned "muzzle brake" and are called "flash hider / suppressor" and are made especially to hide the fireballs from the shots, while the former are essentially to reduce the recoil and do not always hide the fire. Thanks to Rawse for the information.

For someone who have this mod doesn't worked, retry the step in his Description BUT

"Steam\steamapps\common\insurgency2\insurgency\custom\workshop" instead of "Steam\steamapps\common\insurgency2\insurgency\custom\workshop"

If inside the "custom" folder doesn't have workshop folder, create one and put the vpk file inside it.
It actually works for me, because all the other sound mod (which worked for me) it always put everything inside the "workshop" folder which inside the "custom" folder.:steamhappy:

But maybe it's not going to be a good idea as it would require louder sounds for the shots hitting metal or more attention from the player to those sounds.

ScooBy It's a good idea, I've been thinking about partially removing sparks when the shots hit metal and making them very little visible as they are in real life (if they're not seen at all or only in the dark)

If i was a modder, i would create a mod that improves the smoke and the dirt that flyes when walls are hit. In real life videos we can see a lot of dirt in the air when a wall is hit.

I play on coop mainly. I like the mod so far, just issues that only I probably have lol

Try coop servers or no-competitive multiplayer ones, sv_pure 1 is the command that makes things like particles and other mods to be disable to prevent cheating.
