Description
For as unfortunate as it is, this is officially dead. Ive moved PC's. Files got corrupted, gmad doesnt want to work. Ive tried everything and have something updated. If you want more of a finished version, please message me or leave a comment and ill give you the files, as of now, im done trying to update this on workshop. With that said, I will hopefully be working on a new map soon.

Edit: I have discussed the issue with my friend and he propsed a great idea. For now, the project is dead, but there is one last thing to be tested.


This is the industrial side of Garrys mod. It is a work in progress but I wanted to get some feedback. It will continue to be updated. Please give some fair criticism and tips in the comments or discussions so I can look in. Thank you!
This map was made in like 5 days so I do feel pretty happy with the outcome of this pre alpha build.

You can say its absolute garbage, and even that helps. It lets me know what *YOU* like.



Devnote 11 1 17 so lights are broken right now. All the lights that flicker dont light up walls and they flash white. I think its a bug with too many lights on one wall, so ill do my best to fix. However, that was never a problem. Hammer atopped compiling the map, so i had to another packer. Thank you for your understanding

Added fog, new lights, and outside yard area
Added road leading up to the plant, added vehicles on road
Added high rise next to plant for to prevent seeing out of bounds areas
Added rain to outside of building.

Replaced model for guard post with a default combine station

No known cause.
Removed all done work.
No known cause. Post-poning work until map starts working.
Tested, map briefly loads, then breaks.
Tried reducing size of extra water and skybox.
(I believe its one of those two because I think I over did some of the sizes.)

@PUG-alo It's been going pretty decently, trying out a few new ideas, already scrapped a few. I'm trying to take my time and make sure the map is solid from the beginning rather than having a bunch of noobie mistakes that I end up having to fix later.

So... Whats been going on, you ask? Ive been a jackass. Yes. Ive kind of let this project sit because im trying to get a new map going. However, recently getting some feedback and also seeing how much of a broken mess this map has become with updates (lighting issues and other bugs) has made me want to finish this. I dont know what I can get done this week due to my tight schedules but I'll see what I can get done. Thank you all so much for putting up with my bull shit and adhd ass for so long!

Attention community: after a long absense to this mod, ive been feeling the urge to get back into this map and fixing it up as promised. Between work and college, ive struggled to find time to do anything other than play with friends. It May take a while, and it might die againb but well see. Thanks for your patience

@That Proton Torpedo On and off. Ive been stressing minute details, but im also working on a second map as well. Im taking a little creative break like ive done sometimes before.
/spoiler The second map will be completely underground, no above ground areas, and its going to be a construction site that leads into a mine, that kind of deal. Im working on making roads not suck at this very moment!

I thank you guys for your input, especially @Evaide. I plan on adding some ladders to climb the stacks now that you bring it up, along with some catwalks. You gave my a great idea my friend! :gordon:

Hey there! I like your map for its mysterious atmosphere, and I especially love that nobody needs to buy any games to play it! I heard you were looking for some critique, so - while I understand you're not finished with the map yet - I'd like to say that some of your rooms are a little plain right now. I'll be honest, I don't know the first thing about Gmod map making, but I do know that when it comes to large, repeating-textured rooms, you can use simple frameworks to hide the fact that it's so barren. Even some catwalks going around in some of the larger structures could really add depth, and it could break the plain wall pattern. In the same sense, I've noticed that the large concrete section outside looks a little plain. I understand that you said you plan to add props outside, so I'm sure you've got that covered, but just in case you were looking for inspiration on what to do, I was going to suggest some fences that divide the area into categories, generators as well.
