X Class Exploration Ship

(NOTE: This is not in continuity with my previous items, this is a new era based on Star Trek, however this takes place in an alternate timeline. Read the description for more info!)

After the test flight of the Phoenix warp ship (which coincidentally looked like a small scaled version of this ship), Earth decided not to wait for more powerful engines, but instead to build a ship that could be upgraded over time with newer equipment. Thus, in 2055, the X, or "eXperimental" class was formally comissioned by the new United Earth government. At the same time, the Vulcan diplomatic mission had begun trying, and acieving varying sucess in influencing the Starfleet about the ship. Ultimately, Earth managed to finish the ship in 2060, and launched her on the 17th of March of that year. Boasting two pairs of Phase turrets, four fixed antimatter torpedos, and several smaller "fast" missile launchers, the X class was by no means a battle cruiser, however she could hold her own against the contemporary ships of the ear. As a concession, the Vulcans agreed to lend Earth shield technology and starmaps, if they allowed Vulcans to serve onboard Enterprise (the lead ship of the class), thus giving her an edge over the other designs that relied on heavy armor that was reinforced with an electric current (Known as hull plating).
