Trabant 601 mkII

The Trabant is back! this car was the first car I made based on a real vehicle. After a long road of improvements of my own building skill I decided to redo this project and make it a better trabant. My apologies for the extreme skinpack usage. but luckily you will already have most of them in your library. I do however advice you to get the UglyOldGreen skinpack as it covers most of the car.

Improvements over the previous model

- saved about 81 blocks
- body looks way smoother and looks overall more like the trabant
- about 40kmh faster (compared to the boosted speed of the older trabant)
- much, much stronger
- uses BBRTC (stronger rtc, better for faster cars)
- drifts awesomely

drawbacks (optional)

- removes the classic besiege feeling (as the car is mostly bracecubes and scalingblocks)
- no openable hoods and doors
- ugly green is uglier than baby blue (yet also authentic, and some say the green trabant brings luck)

about the Trabant

The Trabant first appeared on the road during the sixties. for the common man in the DDR, this was simply the car one could get. With this trabant literally conquered the country. Although the trabant was modern at the time it was designed compared to western europe models, over the next decade it saw only minor improvements, while western european car companies kept overhauling designs and improving their cars. So at the time germany re-united, this car had become obsolete comparing to other models. many former DDR inhabitant abandoned their beloved car in favor for a more modern one, resulting in many trabants dissappearing from the road. But over the last decades, the interest in trabants is growing again as being a solid, low maintenance and friendly old-timer.
