Description
PLEASE USE THE NEWER VERSION fixed and tweaked for TerraTech 1.0 here!: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1486683188

===========================================================================

The simplest "Compressed Fabrication System" all-crafter with one dedicated Scrapper per resource type. Flat layout for easy access and understanding, with only 4 Component Factories it's pretty fast, but minimal. Please tell me if you have any problems with it, below!

Update: the Dongles stacked 2 high (Advanced and Complex) should both be removed. Some advanced Fabrication will stall with them still in place.

Licenses: GSO 5 (can be GSO 3 if stripped down in Creative mode, before re-snapshotting).

• Related crafting techs in section 11 of my Complete Crafting Guide. Examples:
Harvester bricker - efficient and capable little gatherer of rocks and renewables.
Compressed Block converter - simple tech for bulk Compressed Block conversion (manual setting).
ScrapperSellerBricker - automatically converts or turns loose or scrapped resources into Compressed blocks, selling any Components.

Function:

Uses Compressed Resource Blocks in a 'cartridge' style system; the central array of GSO Node Silos supplies the demands of the Crafting line and indicates which of the 11 GSO Scrappers have been exhausted.

Each GSO Resource Block contains 24 Chunks. So, with 6 stacked above a Scrapper, plus 2 buffered inside (invisible), that's 192 chunks waiting to go. (More than 2 full Lotsa Silos - 3x3.)

This method avoids the size and frame rate drop of an equivalent base using only Silos. Or the tedious process of figuring out which resources are needed in a smaller, mixed silo system (and manually refilling with smaller Compressed Blocks).

This is a 'bare bones' crafting setup. Please customise it for Campaign play, with Bubbles, Batteries, defences, etc.

Usage:

(1) WARNING!: clear area of loose GSO blocks before loading in! (Due to scrappers on this base.)

(2) The GSO Fabricator can be switched out for any other Corporation's.

(3) Remove and re-attach the Orbital Delivery Canon after doing this, so it doesn't take precedence and steal the Fabricator's chunks!

(4) Set Pacemaker to Turbo. :-)

(5) Load up the Scrappers with GSO Compressed Resource Blocks in any order, provided you are always consistent. (Suggested order marked with blocks below Scrappers.)

(6) The SCU is there to prevent the dedicated scrappers from accidentally grabbing loose blocks and jamming up the system.

(7) The spare Scrapper and big silo at the end are for supplying raw resources from low level blocks, to make other low level blocks. Unlikely to need this, once in mid-late game. (This is not a selling base!)

(8) To drain all the Scrappers of residual resources (e.g. before moving the base): set the Filter to "All" and then try to fabricate a Resource Block of each type, until all node silos are empty - Filter will 'steal' the Resources away from the Fabricator to be sold from the 2x2 Silo.

(9) The Canon at the end of the conveyor will also get rid of any spuriously sent resource chunks (from Crafting glitches), to prevent jams. (Hopefully rare, with this setup.)

(10) The Refinery is primarily vestigial - needed to make crafting Exotic Components actually work (a bug). But it can also Refine a continual stream of raw collected/scrapped resources, if needed. E.g. to turn them into Compressed blocks. (Not a main function of this base!)

Removing and re-adding the Refinery will also reset the crafting allocation - a kind of soft reboot, that will retain the Fabricator's stored resources while hopefully unsticking a minor deadlock problem.

(11) A second Fabricator could be added at the end, but don't try to craft 2 high level blocks simultaneously.

System: this tech is part of a systematic way of harvesting, mining, buying, converting and using Compressed Resource Blocks. By far the best way to craft in TerraTech 0.7.8.0. See the other Workshop Techs in this collection.

These are featured in my "Complete Crafting Guide" here on Steam, or on the official forums[forum.terratechgame.com].Great if having problems, or building your own crafting system. 😊

Campaign loading:
• Subscribe to this Workshop item, above.
• Go to Creative mode in TerraTech.
• Click the "Load" button (bottom left of screen) and find it in the "Workshop" tab.
• Remove any blocks from the tech that you don't yet have in your play-through.
• Re-snapshot the tech, so it will now be stored as a local snapshot with your own techs.
• Load as normal in Campaign.

@denymonzz - It won't craft specific high level recipies with Exotic Components in, due to me placing a couple of Component Factory Dongles the wrong way around. Hence why I linked a 'fixed' version at the top: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1486683188

@Jaydeng1000 - yeah, I've had a selection of crafting bases added to the enemy mission population, for GSO level 4 and 5 "Capture the base" type missions. It would have been the updated version of this tech, though: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1486683188

If you killed it then you failed the mission, I think(?). x-D

very cool lookin and simplistic system. its been a while since i played but i always tore appart enemy techs for money and mats. but this setup is for assemling parts you need.

i imagine it wouldnt take much to create a setup attached to this to tear appart things then compact them to sit on the scrapper waiting for a need at some of the factories.

So I've had a quick re-test myself, and I'm not seeing any problems provided that this tech snapshot is first modified as was described above: remove both of the dongles that are stacked 2 high, together. Thankfully.

> i had build up a loop conveyor with an "back to sorting lane"

Yes, and I thought about that when designing this example tech, but opted for just selling any spurious resources. On other techs I've used a dropper to fling spare resources off (and a Collector to immediately grab them back to unsorted storage). Because, if you provide the crafting AI with a loop, it will tend to use it unnecessarily, sending resources on long routes and greatly extending crafting times.

Alright, here you go.
View as on the second picture - remove the dongle at the upper right component factory.
Tested with HE Cruise Missle and Mk3 Battleship cannon ant the GSO Big Bertha.
everything works fine.

But i think there will be some issues if at any time any ressource will be missing. I had not tested that.

Btw. if you remember, i had build up a loop conveyor with an "back to sorting lane" system (just a silo with filter to force out to sorting lane) if you accidentally craft a block you dont wanted to. so the ressources will get back to storage.
