If you killed it then you failed the mission, I think(?). x-D
i imagine it wouldnt take much to create a setup attached to this to tear appart things then compact them to sit on the scrapper waiting for a need at some of the factories.
> i had build up a loop conveyor with an "back to sorting lane"
Yes, and I thought about that when designing this example tech, but opted for just selling any spurious resources. On other techs I've used a dropper to fling spare resources off (and a Collector to immediately grab them back to unsorted storage). Because, if you provide the crafting AI with a loop, it will tend to use it unnecessarily, sending resources on long routes and greatly extending crafting times.
View as on the second picture - remove the dongle at the upper right component factory.
Tested with HE Cruise Missle and Mk3 Battleship cannon ant the GSO Big Bertha.
everything works fine.
But i think there will be some issues if at any time any ressource will be missing. I had not tested that.
Btw. if you remember, i had build up a loop conveyor with an "back to sorting lane" system (just a silo with filter to force out to sorting lane) if you accidentally craft a block you dont wanted to. so the ressources will get back to storage.
And: eek! I've not tried these crafters with any of the new blocks (or even all of the existing ones, of course). I'll have to check it out.
Does it fail with both the exact Dongle layout in the Workshot snapshot *and* if you remove the 2 stacked Dongles, as suggested above?
nice desing and you fond a way to produce without a conveyor loop.
But i found an issue. Try to craft the Hawkeye Mk3 Battleship Cannon. the process will get stuck at producing one more Heat Coil. i guess we have to add a fifth component factory
Did you check the Steam guides section? Was my "Complete Crafting Guide" not digestible?:https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1191458767
Remember, after switching out the Farbicator, to also remove and re-add the Delivery Cannon at the end of the line (to stop it steeling all the resources). You can remove this altogether (or move it round), in theory. I just wasn't certain that the Crafting system would never get randomly confused and loose track of resources, jamming the line.
> item fabricators constantly switch between requesting items and saying that there are no items in the system
Depends on context (and what crafting block you're talking about, exactly). Some posibilities:
(1) Resource/component chunks will pass Fabricators that need them when another Fabricator (with higher precedence) is asking for them, further along the Conveyor.
(2) They'll pass Component Factories when they have been added to a tech *after* the Factory requesting them.
(3) They'll bypass refineries when you have multiple refineries and maybe a loop with Filter completing.
See my crafting guide for other possibilities, particularly the bugs further down (marked with 🔻), and ask more general crafting questions there.
That base I was bragging about it almost done, but I want to get a bit of intel before I post it.
Have you ever encountered the bug where the item fabricators constantly switch between requesting items and saying that there are no items in the system, making the resource chunks pass by them?
What size do the slideshow pictures need to be in order to fit in the steam workshop?
The "Compressed" is primarily referring to the Compressed Resource Blocks. But it is supposed to have double meaning, sure; it's still a heck of a lot smaller (,quicker and less laggy) than the majority of legacy style crafting bases.
The mediocre helicopter with backwards turning and non-functional tail rotors got 4 stars.
Anyway. "new scrappers"? You mean, the crafting system's changed quite a bit since back when, right? You can't break Component chunks back down to resources. Only blocks can be broken down to the components (and resources) a Fabricator would directly use to make them.
Do you think a crafting block to break down Components would be a good suggestion idea? Components are a nuisance to deal with, since there's so many types, and you can't make them into blocks for storage in your SCU, etc.
But I'm more proud of the "Godzilla" model, which embodies even more of the research and careful design needed to circumvent the crafting bugs, to make a *really fast* Fabrication base.
Kinda hard/impossible to search for specific people's techs on here, though (until you find something by them, I guess). So you're all particularly welcome to post up links to your crafting related techs on my Crafting Guide thread comments: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1191458767
Or here, if it's a variation off this tech, for example. Where ever is most relevant.
No, I'm making my own.
Actually, I've already posted a couple of older versions of it, but they had a few small glitches that I've almost worked out in the new version.
Don't worry, this base is still really awesome, but I still believe that mine has more practicality to it (more storage, less space, protection, scrapping, and charging)
You'll see it soon and be able to judge it for yourself :D
Oh and yeah I saw your godzilla, that's what inspired me to build my thing (for now, I'll keep the name a surprise)
I'm about to blow this design out of the water
Or are you saying that you you want Corporation themed bases, for looks?
"Perhonen" is a spaceship character in one of my favourite sci-fi trilogies: "Quantum Thief" by Finnish author Hannu Rajaniemi (and I'd looked up it's meaning).
