SLC M1904 [Draegast'd]

Description

Does need invincibility mode to work properly

06-12 Thanks to you all for making this creation reach first place in the workshop!

The first realistic self-loading cannon in the besiege workshop
After a seriously long time of testing, developing and improving previous designs, this one finally made it through: The M1904. some of you might have seen some gifs coming by on the Artwork page of besiege that used technics that eventually made this one work as it does now. This build is however still a prototype and is therefore not implementation ready.
It hold 5+1 rounds, each cannon has a power of 7 and is equipped with a failure ejection method to reduce the odds of you pressing spacebar again. if you like to see the operation of the magazine: get invisibility skin and remove the wooden blocks infront of the magazine on the right side of the mechanism (seen in gif above).
blockcount: 172

This machine has been featured by the one and only Draegast! check out his video here

Operation
Tension the magazine: [H] (press ones before shooting)
Fire cannons: [G] (set on hold, if you want to fire semi-auto, just tap it)
Aim down the sight: [F] (practically useless since you cannot move the gun while simutating)
Push back bolt after failed loading: [L] (hold and release after it cought a cannon from the mag)

If you wish to experiment other actions (manual-bolt action / blowback operation) just remove the togglelock hinges behind the suspension. after that you can easily add your action into it and test it!

Have fun and make sure to rate this upload and leave a comment if you like. if you want more interesting builds, check out my workshop!

Tested many variations for magazines and honestly noted that only gravity fed weapons (so magazine on top) are the best to extend. however, gravity fed magazines feed to slow, and cause blank fires (the bolt returns without pushing a new round in the chamber). Additionally, the magazine is a critical component of the weapon, a poorly designed magazine will not work in many ways. the current 6 round magazine is already rather good (comparing to my 3 round SLC M1905). the largest number I have tested was around 12 rounds. but with that one, it loses tension after 5 rounds and starts feeding terribly

Magazine extentions? I really like this, and I'm not complaining. Just asking if its possible, I reckon you'd be able to do so by moving the system further down.

we are advancing in technology in this game its only a matter of time before someone makes a mech or car with a weapon like this

Well, i must agree that you are right. It probably could somehow be implemented in the future but not now. How about an semi-automatic rifle? Like an SKS or something like it? Because i would love to see an rifle version of this system. Also, you could probably improve the system more.

The biggest difference between a real life bolt action bolt and automatic bolt is how it unlocks. when a round is chambered it is locked by the bolt. otherwise it would leave the weapon when you run with it, or blow up in your face when shooting. a bolt action is manually unlocked, automatic weapons use cams or gas loading (so with the gas escaping the weapon). this weapon (and basically all my other systems) do not lock the bolt.
Also, your ideas rely to much on a literall manual operation, namely with a drag tool. my systems are build intentionally to work without the dragtool. when I speak of manual extraction, i mean like with a different key than the one firing it. creating a pedersen device is not only insanely complex, not even in regard of the difficulties mounting the device

Well, i could rely on dragging the used cannon out of the rifle. Also, the rifle best suited for an system like it, would probably be Springfield 1903. But might have to include two versions, because the Pedersen device used an self-loading system. and the device would be be very painful to create with only one version.

I am personally considering building a bolt-action system that is capable of real action, so no pinned gun, but implemented into a carrier. however, bolt-action ejection requires to 'catch' the rim of the bullet, since the hitbox of the cannon doesnt support a rim, it cannot be realistically ejected. my previous solutions relied on the logic that the mechanism will always automatically eject the round, with a manual loading cycle. in other words, my bolt-actions are actually self-loading but always fail to load.

Also, please. Could you make an bolt-action rifle with an ability to turn it into an semi-automatic gun by removing a part?
