Tested many variations for magazines and honestly noted that only gravity fed weapons (so magazine on top) are the best to extend. however, gravity fed magazines feed to slow, and cause blank fires (the bolt returns without pushing a new round in the chamber). Additionally, the magazine is a critical component of the weapon, a poorly designed magazine will not work in many ways. the current 6 round magazine is already rather good (comparing to my 3 round SLC M1905). the largest number I have tested was around 12 rounds. but with that one, it loses tension after 5 rounds and starts feeding terribly

Magazine extentions? I really like this, and I'm not complaining. Just asking if its possible, I reckon you'd be able to do so by moving the system further down.

we are advancing in technology in this game its only a matter of time before someone makes a mech or car with a weapon like this
automobiili_xd 24 Jun, 2018 @ 12:48pm
Well, i must agree that you are right. It probably could somehow be implemented in the future but not now. How about an semi-automatic rifle? Like an SKS or something like it? Because i would love to see an rifle version of this system. Also, you could probably improve the system more.
Petrus1904  [author] 24 Jun, 2018 @ 12:07pm
The biggest difference between a real life bolt action bolt and automatic bolt is how it unlocks. when a round is chambered it is locked by the bolt. otherwise it would leave the weapon when you run with it, or blow up in your face when shooting. a bolt action is manually unlocked, automatic weapons use cams or gas loading (so with the gas escaping the weapon). this weapon (and basically all my other systems) do not lock the bolt.
Also, your ideas rely to much on a literall manual operation, namely with a drag tool. my systems are build intentionally to work without the dragtool. when I speak of manual extraction, i mean like with a different key than the one firing it. creating a pedersen device is not only insanely complex, not even in regard of the difficulties mounting the device
automobiili_xd 24 Jun, 2018 @ 9:05am
Well, i could rely on dragging the used cannon out of the rifle. Also, the rifle best suited for an system like it, would probably be Springfield 1903. But might have to include two versions, because the Pedersen device used an self-loading system. and the device would be be very painful to create with only one version.

I am personally considering building a bolt-action system that is capable of real action, so no pinned gun, but implemented into a carrier. however, bolt-action ejection requires to 'catch' the rim of the bullet, since the hitbox of the cannon doesnt support a rim, it cannot be realistically ejected. my previous solutions relied on the logic that the mechanism will always automatically eject the round, with a manual loading cycle. in other words, my bolt-actions are actually self-loading but always fail to load.
automobiili_xd 23 Jun, 2018 @ 1:31pm
Also, please. Could you make an bolt-action rifle with an ability to turn it into an semi-automatic gun by removing a part?
automobiili_xd 23 Jun, 2018 @ 1:20pm
ok. i seriously love this creation. i haven't seen anything like this in the workshop.
Petrus1904  [author] 23 Jun, 2018 @ 12:42pm
yeah, I have noticed it. it is caused by a half pipe under the bolthead. this one should be inside the magazine cover (the 2 plows). however, due the recoil it kicks out, sadly. this occured more and more after the MV launch.
automobiili_xd 21 Jun, 2018 @ 12:27pm
Plus you have to drag the chamber loaded fully.
automobiili_xd 21 Jun, 2018 @ 12:26pm
I figured out a way that you can somehow fire "ALMOST" all of them. You remove the two springs inside the chamber.
automobiili_xd 21 Jun, 2018 @ 12:06pm
Petrus, could you please try to sort out the feeding problem that is, because after 2 shots i have to manually insert the round on the chamber?

What video did dreagast show this on?
Petrus1904  [author] 9 Dec, 2017 @ 2:23am
First of all, thanks for the comments! @Rye turning on invincibility is sadly the only way this thing works properly. The ejection module is namely destroyed on the first shot without. Otherwise it should go fine, but since mv update dropped, physics might have slightly change

neat, simply neat
Sourdough Bread 8 Dec, 2017 @ 3:59pm
Can never get more than 2 shots (at best) before it breaks. Cool animations, though.
Jaum 8 Dec, 2017 @ 11:56am
@petrus1904 I didn't really thought to did this before. Sorry, my bad XD
thanks guy :)

What a great prototype gun. The mechanism itself looks fantastic, let's see what the next version will look like. Hope we can get a larger clip.

Self-Loathing cannon - expodes itself indefinitely.
Petrus1904  [author] 6 Dec, 2017 @ 12:48pm
@Jaum, if you hover your mouse over a piston and press 'F' you will flip it (so it contracts when pressing the key). note that you'll need some space to make it flip. @Ross, thank you! I've also read post about somewhat the same stuff, but I was already making these kind of mechanisms back then. secretly hoped that they would be not implemented since this upload would become obsolete. besides, that would most likely not make the cannon eject beautifully from the system

It looks so cool seeing shells hit the ground! This machine reminds me of something I suggested for the game a long time ago...

好有蒸汽朋克风格!
Jaum 5 Dec, 2017 @ 6:23pm
Thanks for the contribution :)

Could you please tell me how this contract piston was made? I've tried to do this, but I can not find anywhere. :/
DroopDoot 5 Dec, 2017 @ 1:50pm
Ok.
Petrus1904  [author] 5 Dec, 2017 @ 1:24am
Thanks! @SumoJunkie, making belt fed stuff in besiege is harder than you making it irl since you cant simply slam ropes on a cannon. so you would likely end up with cannons attached to hinges. sad thing is: if the hinge doesnt break (which it shouldnt logically) there is no blowback force to load in a new one. lastly, if I would build a functional belt-fed mechanism, I would not stick the belt into a chucky, high odds of getting stuck, magazine :)
DroopDoot 4 Dec, 2017 @ 4:12pm
Or RPD.
DroopDoot 4 Dec, 2017 @ 4:11pm
Like the LSAT from Cod.
DroopDoot 4 Dec, 2017 @ 4:11pm
Try to make it into a light machine gun.
stone 4 Dec, 2017 @ 12:56pm
impressive. I tried to make a gravity fed cannon but the feeding system was very unreliablel.
Dumb 4 Dec, 2017 @ 11:34am
Yep, I realised that as well after a few more hours after that comment was posted.*

A great gun thought none the less

yep i realised that aswell after a few more hours after that comment was posted
Petrus1904  [author] 4 Dec, 2017 @ 5:37am
@cman its quite early indeed, besides making a manual operation mechanism requires one to be able to grab a cannon and release it with the right timing. or one assumes every round is ejected by himself but the next one should be loaded manually. one advantage is, that you can also control the tension of the magazine.

@hampus that method works pretty much the same as holding L, but I noticed that without invincibility mode on, the extraction method is destroyed pretty much by the first round.
Jonsson 3 Dec, 2017 @ 10:51pm
TIp to evryone getting jams on this thing just use godmode and drag the bolt backwards

so it loads a new round

(obviously only useble if theres no round in the chamber so you can only use this method if theres a jam where it dosent load it or dosent push it in far enough)
Im_awesome04 3 Dec, 2017 @ 6:44pm
@Petrus1904 I might try at some point. been working on other things recently.
RomaniaForLife(280z) 3 Dec, 2017 @ 5:04pm
may be a little to early to ask but maybe an model 1887 lever action shotugun from terminator 2
Petrus1904  [author] 3 Dec, 2017 @ 3:23am
Thanks all! @Im_awesome04, I made a working model long time ago, this one was simply repeatable enough to be upload worthy. I challenge you to build your own model with maybe new insights gained from this one, so you could make an even better one!

Это очень круто работает .

id love to see one with a bigger mag but this one is very fun i like pushing it to its limts and seeing how fast it can shoot
Im_awesome04 2 Dec, 2017 @ 5:39pm
dang it, you beat me to making a working one :(
