Twinhydro Mobile SAM (Vanilla)

Description
Improved Mobile SAM with better MP / DS stability and faster hydrogen missiles. This tank launches homing missiles using the Newly Upgraded Easy Lidar Homing Script.


This is a Vanilla Build, NO MODS are required.

How To Use

1) Hop into cockpit.

2) Press Button #3 to View Targeting Camera.

3) Aim at target using mouse or controller (Rotors are slaved to mouse input by script).

4) Press Button #1 to Launch Missile.

5) Keep your crosshair aimed at the target until the crosshair rotates (i.e. Projector Crosshair Animation). A locked-on sound effect is also played (4 short beeps).

Note: You must launch the missiles first, then aim at the target. If missile is not launched, no lock-on can be achieved as the script is not activated.



Additional Notes: Rotor Turret, Vehicle Stabilization & Offset Aiming

1) Use Button #5 to reduce turret sensitivity and Button #6 to increase sensitivity.

2) Use Toolbar 2 Button #5 to Lower Wheels and Toolbar 2 Button #6 to Heighten Wheels (For Stability).

3) When Wheels are Low enough, use Toolbar 2 Button #7 to Lock Landing Gears to the ground for Maximum Stability. Note: Locking to the ground for the first time may make the Turret unturnable. Don't worry, just Unlock and Lock again if this happens.

4) Use Button #2 to launch missile as Offset Mode. This mode will home to the locked-on point instead of the target's center. This is used to target specific points on a large and slow moving target (e.g. Helicarrier).



Reloading Missiles

1) Reloading requires a separate base setup with overhead welders. You need to weld the missiles separately and then mount it onto the Missile Mounting Points (Rotors).



Share Inertia Tensor is enabled for a reason. Disabling it will result in Wobbling and Clang
(Despite the Big Red Unsighty Unsafe Grid Box showing, don't trust it).

Clang does not like it when you tweak my tank.

This blueprint is working with vanilla as of June/2021. You need to reload/reselect the same script from the script browser by clicking 'Edit' on the programmable blocks for the missiles. They are named missile computer. This mod has v21 and you need v25 which is available in vanilla game.

Once you get an updated missile script you should be ready to run CHECKSHIP command from the programmable block of each missile. This will show on HUD and list the parts that will trigger if you try to fire the respective missile. After you confirm the parts are/seem correct then click Recompile on the same programmable block to reset it.

You are now ready to fire a missile using the mode selected (number 0-9) in the custom data of the programmable block. See the Easy Homing Script for the commands.

This vehicle didn't work at first but I fixed it by updating the script on the missile computers

The script isn't properly configured though, I had to edit the script on missiles to detach using rotors instead of merge block.

What script did you use for the turret? I couldn't find any such thing in your workshop files and tried Whiplash's MART script, but it didn't work. I'm trying to make a SAM turret but can't figure out how to make it work like the one on this vehicle.

Wheels still quite weird after physics update. I havent set the correct wheels settings, all values are 100%, so its flipping easily. Reason is wheels are so bugged that its hard to tweak.
