I wish there was a "custom shape maker" tool that would convert the shape into a voxel mesh. I realy miss Landmark in this regard. You could pretty much make an shape imaginable, although it could take a very very long time to get the desired result. But stil, you could make perfect spheres at any shape about half the size of the character and up to the maximum size of the build area. Then cut these shapes, use the cuts to make negative cuts. It was an amazing building system.
They used Voxelfarms engine. Look up voxel farm to see what can really be done with voxels. What we have in empyrion is a fetus stage in the voxel world (not saying its bad thing, just a limiting thing).
even my mid-game ship has similar shape ;-)
