Description
This addon to "WappenWiki Flags For Europa Universalis IV" provides versions of flags from the base mod which have been edited to better fit a banner shape. It is intended to be used by those who have changed the UI to use a banner shape for flags rather than a shield.

This is an addon file, meaning that it only replaces the flags it needs to. While it will technically function on its own, it will be missing many flags. For the full experience, also use the parent mod: "WappenWiki Flags For Europa Universalis IV".

If you are looking for a mod which edits the user interface to accommodate banner-style flags, a personal favourite of mine is Iconic Banners.

Banners 2 Compatibility Note
Norse Modder's popular "Banners 2" mod includes a feature which stretches the flag images, and this is liable to result in the edges of flags being cropped. Example here.[i.imgur.com] The original version of Banners did not have this issue, but it is no longer supported and has been pulled from the workshop.

@Gemalt

WappenWiki Flags and this add-on to it do not alter the user interface. They merely replace the images that the game draws from for the flags. You need a separate mod that edits the user interface if you want the flags displayed in a square frame. This add-on simply reshapes the flag image elements so that they look natural in such a frame.

The update for version 1.30 is now live. My workflow was kind of a mess, so please let me know if I missed anything.

Yes, I intend to update this for version 1.30. I'm sorry it's been so delayed. I've been doing some renovations on my home, and it's been eating up a lot of my time.

is this going to be updated?
Brave Sir Robin  [author] 24 Jan, 2020 @ 1:40am
Oh, sorry. I forgot to update that note in the description after Norse Modder removed the original Banner Flags from the Workshop with the 1.29 update.

I haven't been using banner-shaped flags recently, but another mod which I liked was Isaacasm's Flag Interface. It hasn't been updated since 1.22, though, so I am unsure if it still works.

There's also an unofficial Banners 3.0 here. I'm assuming that it still has the image-stretching problem, though.
dsa outdated jokes caucus 23 Jan, 2020 @ 6:29pm
what mod do you recommend for banner shapes? I can't find "banner flags" on the workshop anymore

The Rugged Flags mod works by manually applying Photoshop filters and effects to the base game's flag images, meaning it would require an entirely standalone version of other flag mods for them to have a similar effect. I personally have no objections to something like this being made and released, but I do not have Photoshop. You would need to either ask Veka85, the creator of Rugged Flags, for a compatible version or find someone who does have Photoshop to create one.
