(OUTDATED) Daughters of Mars Redux for Empire Divided

Description
Adding a few female units into Empire Divided. This is more of a fun mod with much creative license taken, so unfortunately it’s not intended to be historically realistic.

This is my first mod. Balance may not be optimal, so feedback on what I should change are most welcome. I have tested the new units again vanila units, vice versa, and each other, and it seems fine for their intended purposes.

New Units:

Marcomanni, Gothi and background Germanic

-Shieldmaidens: Second tier sword infantry, somewhat equivalent to Armoured Germanic Swords, but with a focus on defense over attack. Recruit from second tier warrior lodge (Meeting Grounds) and above.

-Shieldmaiden Guard: Third tier missile/spear infantry. Functions like Lothern Sea Guard from TWWH2, they are superb archers, and good spear infantry. A missile unit that can hold their own in melee against cavalry well. Recruit from fourth tier warrior lodge (Hall of Champions)

Saxoni

-Valkyries: Final tier shock cavalry. Recruit from 4th and final level temple of Wodanaz (which happens to be the same god as Odin).

Rome

-Frumentarii: Stealthed flanking infantry. Strong attack and charge bonus. Not good for frontal or prolonged fight, good for flanking and rear attacks. Recruit from Frumentarii (administration building) and above.

Gallic Rome

-Gallic Shieldmaiden Frumentarii: Stealthed flanking infantry, but with shield and stronger defence, weaker attack compared to Roman counterpart. Can hold a bit longer at cost of less killing power. Recruit from third tier barracks.

Palmyra

- Eastern Frumentarii: Stealthed archers with high accuracy but low ammunition. Good for flanking from rear, with ability to attack from afar at cost of slower kill rate. Weak in melee. Recruit from third tier barracks.

Removed Gothic Spearwomen and Marcomanni Noblewomen Archers as their functions are fulfilled by new units.

Study is heavy at the moment. When there is time this mod will be updated.

Didn't even realise this was out of date, oh well, looked good. I wouldn't mind this one purely for the fact that I bought DoM DLC assuming it would be incorporated in to other campaigns, seems I was mistaken.

To be fair, germanic factions did have female warriors, and those were equiped with swords and shields, axes and shields, as well as spears and shields, although archer + spear and shelds warriors not so much, as most of the factions using female warriors were the nordic vikings, and range fighting was not glorius, so on a general basis they were rare amongst both male and female warriors. And who knows maybe you can do something wonderful for the germanic factions with this information, just remember that germanic factions are all about foot infantry focusing on melee over anything else :)

@Empress Thank you very much. I could make the units you asked for, but I’ve a feeling it might not sit well with a lot of people, plus yeah I said the mod wasn’t accurate historically, but I didn’t want to add too many units especially for the Romans who were quite a patriarchal society.

That being said, this guide taught me how to make this mod. It’s easy to follow and you can easily add your own units to the mod or make your own mod. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?656454-Sebidee-s-Complete-Guide-to-Unit-Creation
Good luck.

These are wonderful units!! I love using them in my campaign. Could you make some more frontline type troops for the Roman factions? Kind of like the Gladiatrice units? Or just an equivilant of the Shieldmaidens. Zenobia is my favourite faction and I would love it if she had some tough female units!

@izardflo The title, and almost the very first thing I said in the description, please
