Continents++ (Map Only)

A hand-drawn, huge map similar to the Continents maps added with the Explorer's Map Pack DLC.

This map works best for:

On two (2) Continents:
Up to 14 Civilizations of Continent Type: Europe
Up to 4 Civilizations of Continent Type: Asia
More than 18 Civilization will likely cause some civilizations to start on continents where they have little or no competition, which will make them dominant.

Less than 18 City States could lead to a situation where one Civ hogs a luxury, and you then may have no City State as alternate source if your cities demand that luxury. Exactly 18 City States is the best setting for this map.

The map's terrain hands a human player a distinct advantage. A higher difficulty level helps the AI be competitive.

With the AI Civ's hobbled by the more difficult terrain, Raging Barbarians are an enjoyable challenge for a human player to fight for the first key, strategic points of the map.

Even if you prefer not to run the complete Community Balance Patch (CBP), it is advisable to activate the "More Luxuries" sub-mod, because the map places its nine additional luxuries and the additional city-state luxury. The mod can be subscribed here:

... and hate when England spawns on a tropical coastline, or Siam starts landlocked in the Taiga, or the City State of Kuala Lumpur is located on tundra tiles next to the Danes, then consider playing this map using a scenario:
