Continents++ (BNW)

Description
This scenario plays on a hand-drawn, huge map similar to the
Continents
maps added with the Explorer's Map Pack DLC.

A scenario on a huge map similar to the
Pangaea
maps can be found here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1278837372

This Scenario:
Map Size: 128x80 Tiles
Map Type: Continents - The world consists of a few large landmasses and some smaller islands.
Game Pace: Epic (cannot be changed)
Default Difficulty Level: Chieftain (Beginner; can be changed)
Barbarians: Raging (be prepared for an onslaught)

Scenario sets realistic starting locations for 18 playable civilizations (requires BNW) and 18 city states:

English Empire
Danish Empire [DLC]
German Empire
Polish Empire
French Empire
Spanish Empire [DLC]
Portugese Empire
Russian Empire
Hunnic Empire
Morrocan Empire
Egyptian Empire
Assyrian Empire
Ottoman Empire
Dutch Empire
Indonesian Empire
Indian Empire
Chinese Empire
Japanese Empire

This map is optimized for the
Community Development Patch (CBP/Vox Populi)
It's an incredible re-work of the base Civ V that makes the game that much better. Best: it's free! More here: http://civ-5-cbp.wikia.com/wiki/Civ5_CBP_Wikia
Even if you prefer not to run CBP, it is advisable to activate the "More Luxuries" sub-mod, because the map places its nine additional luxuries and the additional city-state luxury. The mod can be subscribed here:

Gods & Kings Edition:
If you do not own the Brave New World Expansion, but have Gods & Kings, here is a version of this map for you:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1267374215

Map Only Edition:
Should you wish to play with your own Civs/other modded Civs from the Workshop, or would like full freedom to choose your own settings, here is a clean version of this map with random starting positions:

Hope you'll have a lot of fun exploring and conquering this vast world!

@The World is a Sandbox: no problem, these maps are still great. Keep up the great work!

Both of these modpacks (Ethnic/RED) claim they only reskin, but I've had so many issues (crashes, vanished/glitched units) and so many incompatibilities with pretty much any other significant mod out there, I personally gave up one those a long time ago. Sorry I can't be of help.

@The World is a Sandbox: after some fidgeting around, the issue seems to arise when either the ethnic units or RED modpack is enabled along with the scenario version of the map. Both mods re-skin many units, but otherwise do not change gameplay. Do you know why this might be?

When you say "natural wonder icons" you refer to the icons on the strategic map? The wonders do show on the normal map, don't they. I have no ready answer; sounds like a mod conflict. Were you playing with the most recently updated Vox Populi (updated as of late last fall)?
Mvek reported some issues with Barbarians (see below). I have doubts that this is because of the map; and suspect more it's VP and some new bugs/interactions with other mods after their newest release. The added code for this scenario is so minimal, it really shouldn't trigger what's being reported.
Remember that this version of the map is the SCENARIO: it has pre-set civilizations and city states, with some slight modifications for balance.
If you want to test if your problems come from another mod, you could play a game on the "Map Only"-version of this map. It's just a map, so whatever problem you run into must come from somewhere else: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1272973963

Hey, great map, but I have a question: when I play with this mod, icons for the barbarian "faction", unit promotion icons, natural wonder icons, etc. don't show up. What can be done about this?

@The World is a Sandbox: Well, I have installed Vox Populi (for the first time) on 4th Dec. And no other mods installed, only full Vox Populi (without the new GUI, because even when installing with the automated installer, the graphics files could not be found when starting a game).
I will try Spain on your map as a map, not scenario, too and also on your map without any mods to be sure.

@Mvek - that's puzzling: I testplayed this SCENARIO with Spain and didn't encounter the issues you report. Mind you, that was before the recent (November?) patch/update they released for Vox Populi.
Note that this file is a SCENARIO: it means it has starting locations and some fine-tuning included in its code.
If you want to play with other nations than the ones listed above or be absolutely sure to encounter lots and lots of Barbarians, try the MAP ONLY version. That one is just the map file, nothing that could screw anything up (alas, its starting locations are totally random, so you may end of with some head-scratchers for your first city):

Hi, it is strange, but when playing with Vox Populi (not sure without it) as Spain, whole world is discovered. If I start any other game with Vox Populi and Spain, it does not happen.
Other netaions (at least India and Vikings) are fine even here.
Another strange thing is that when playing with Vox Populi and starting as India or Vikings, I have not encountered any Barbarians. And yet when playing random map, I encounter them a lot and tough.

Fucking amazing map mate, real great. Premade maps are absolutely fantastic and you made a fantastic premade map. Gonna play this for a couple months from now.
