Gigiauz's Uniforms and Heraldry of the Greenskins – ihKu47's Colour Variation Edition

Description
Important information

With the latest version of Gigiauz's Uniforms and Heraldry of the Greenskins I feel like this variation mod has become obsolete: All the major reasons I wanted to make it have now been addressed in the original mod, and I think its the definitive version of Greenskins uniforms and the one I myself want to be using from now on. As such, this mod will likely not be receiving updates from now on - I may revisit it if I get a great idea for an update but I make no promises on that. You can still use this mod if you so prefer and I will keep it on Workshop, but it won't get updates for the newer Greenskins faction, two of which are playable (and look great with the original mod).

Mod information

This is an aesthetically modified version of Gigiauz's brilliant reskin mod for the Greenskins, found here. Please, if you enjoy my version of the mod go subscribe to the original for long enough to give it a thumbs up and consider making a donation through the links: Gigiauz is the one who put all the work in to create these skins and deserves all the credit.

I made a different version of this mod with some of the stuff Gigiauz added to his mods, and my own further variations. If you like, you can check it out here.

Note: Use only my mod or the original at a given time. Their values conflict and this will likely cause problems.

What this mod does

Orcs will no longer wear blue clothes. They no longer wear pale shirts either, but they may have pale elements on their lower body. Red, armor and brown now dominate the overall look of the orcs. See the screenshots above to get an idea of what they look like.

Night goblin RoRs now carry shields with night goblin designs instead of goblin ones.

Squig hoppers now use a mix of head pieces from several night goblin RoR units, making them more colorful and distinctive than night goblin infantry.

Da Rusty Arrers RoR now only use the darker variant of their head pieces, eliminating the pale faces that came with the paler hats.

Why it does it

I like to use Sebidee's and Ado's All Factions Officers when I play, and I noticed the orc officers' clothing became distinctively pale colored when Gigiauz's Uniforms and Heraldry of the Greenskins was active. Eliminating the two colors made the officers easier to look at and I thought the orc troops themselves looked a bit more in line with the Greenskins faction colors as well.

I feel like the night goblin RoR units are the night gobboest of the night gobbos, so I thought they ought to carry the shields with the moon design we all know and love.

Though Gigiauz's squig hopper head pieces stick closer to the lore and official art work, I found myself missing the crazy looking pinkish hoods of the vanilla models. While the RoRs are maybe the most night gobboest of gobbos, the squig hoppers are among the wildest and craziest, and an elite class of their own. It's only fitting they wear hoods that fit both their status and nature – while looking quite spiffy on the squigs to boot!

Da Rusty Arrers originally had two kinds of hoods, a paler and a darker version. While I liked the pale hood's color, it gave the Arrers a much paler face as a side effect. This didn't sit well with my sense of aesthetics. While the more uniform look may be somewhat less gobliny at least da boyz will now be pretty.

The mod should be up-to-date and run fine, let me know if you encounter any problems! The new Greenskins factions don't have any special shields with this mod though, maybe one day I will import them from Gigauz if they agree for them to be carried over to this mod.

Updated version is now live, and it includes all the nice things Gigiauz added in his update to his mod, and a few of my own adjustments. Check it out here and see if you like it: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1798878265

I plan on keeping this version of the mod on the workshop as well, so you don't need to worry even if you prefer this one.

This mod should remain functional despite the update probably making it look like its outdated. I will reupload it eventually but you should be able to safely use it even before that.

Just a heads up that Gigiauz has recently updated his own mod. The new version gives a bit more detail to the units and removes blue clothing from the Orcs, but doesn't include the changes this mod does to the Goblin units. You might want to check out the changes and see if you like his mod more now.

I might consider doing an updated mod of my own version that would need Gigiauz's main mod to function, but I'm busy with other things at the moment so that will take a long time yet to come - if ever.

Mod should now be up to date, comment here if you have any issues and I'll try to get to them next week.

Just a heads up for anyone using this mod: I may not be able to update the mod on 31st or even in the near future, but since it's just a reskin it should work fine. Just enable out of date mods in the launcher.

I will update the mod when I can though, rest assured!

It looks demonic tbh, lol And as design goes, I see nothing wrong about it. They are suppose to be savages and mean. I tried to assign the red eyes to the savage orcs just out of curiosity, but red and green didn't mixed up that well. Now, the little red texture in the black orc helmets, it looks fucking great
