Report a translation problem
Sorry for the wrong choice of words. What I mean to say is despite the well made number of nodes. It seems as though the npcs have some trouble registering them or acknowledging that the nodes exist in some places the last time I tested the map. (You'd get a fast zombie sprinting at you and in a few seconds they'd forget where they're going on some spots)
The nodes are placed on top of the sand as shown in the screenshots. There are none "buried under the sand".
