Compounds (Benzene Edition)

Description
Haha, you thought the crystalline were hard to build with!

Introducing...

The Compounds!

These guys are ridiculously enlarged molecular structures with enormous potential energy coiled up in their bonds.

________________________

Some interesting things:

--All atoms in this mod actually bond (normally) in the same ways (Oxygen has two ports, Hydrogen has 1, etc.).

--Yup, they look like very inaccurate images from a classic chemistry textbook. In reality, there are almost no right angles between atoms, and there are no sticks bonding atoms, and atoms are smaller than a wavelength of visible light, in other words are colorless.

________________________

New Things:

--Double Bonds! Triple Bonds! ALL KINDS OF BONDS!

--Hexagon Base shape, allowing for much more realism.

--Oh, and now it is
Vanilla Balanced.

--Remember to scale up atoms to change their port arrangements.

Blocks n' stuff

--Bond: Comes in three different shapes: Triple, Double, and Single. There is an explosovely reactive Triple bond, also (Thanks Margakis!).

--Carbon: Structural. 3 different port arrangements of 4 ports.

--Nitrogen: Structural. 4 different port arrangements of 3 ports.

--Oxygen: Structural. 3 different arrangements of 2 ports.

--Oxygen Ion: -1: This oxygen atom already has one of its ports taken up! It produces energy.

--Electronegative Hydrogen (Thanks Icemourn!): One port. Effective point defense that repels projectiles.

--Reactive Hydrogen: Command module. Comes with a high energy electron shell.

--Tritium: Hydrogen Isotope. Comes with a high energy electron shell.

--Mobile Oxygen/Hydrogen: Effective thrusters. 2 (Oxygen) and 1 (Hydrogen) port arrangements.

--Ionic Bonds: Attract Sodium, Potassium, or Francium and use them to deposit electrons and/or radiation on hostile ordinance!

--Iron: A basic transition metal. It is magnetic.

--Aluminum: A light, useful metal.

--Gold: The colors don't work right, so... But it is a very powerful Bolshevik-like weapon.

--Silicon: Make some computer chips with lasers!

--Tungsten: Strong, dense metal. Good for lightbulbs.

--Sulfur: A stinky atom that fires low velocity shots in great volumes.

--Lead: Poison some enemy ships from close range!

--Chlorine: Halogen. Useful for pools and stuff.

--Fluorine: Halogen. Fluorine + Glass = Fire.

--Phosphorous: "Phosphorous is powerful, and whether you use that power to grow plants or level a city is up to you."

--Copper: Useful for wire.

--Producto-bond: This strange version of an Ionic bond atrracts nearby hydrogen atoms, enlarges them, and ejects them off as Reactive Hydrogen.

I will be adding more ships and atoms to build with in the future.

I used WEAPON_OUT and IN ports to make the atoms attach how they do.

This is my third modded faction, and I couldn’t have made it without the Reassembly Discord (it is fun to lurk). If you want to join, here’s the link: https://discord.gg/BM4eeqS

A link to my other mod that is slightly less hard to build with: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1255302219

Credit to Theodore Gray for making three books (Elements, Molecules, and Reactions) that told me all about the atoms that make up this world. Without them, I wouldn’t have been able to make this mod well.

Thanks to Laps for letting me copy and put his Orion-Class Ferolder in this mod.

Yes, I know the molecules aren't named correctly.
Yes, that is an incorrect benzene molecule.
Yes, that is Owlfeathers's wonderful EAF faction that the Compounds are fighting in those pictures.
And yes, the colors are slightly off.

The Compounds have been dethroned from the most popular position, and I thank you all for subscribing and rating this mod, positively or negatively. Please continue to do so!

Don’t worry, the Compounds will rise again, after I get a couple more mods out. Stay tuned...

If you want the shapes.lua file for this mod, message me on discord (My name is Debris) and I will send it over. You may make a mod using it, but be sure to credit me in its discription. And yes, they can attach to normal blocks.

If you like this faction, then please rate it positively! If you don't, please rate it negatively!
This would definitely be appreciated. Almost no one does it, only 19 people so far have, so please do it :P

If you don't like this mod because of its strange shapes, then please don't rate it badly. You will figure out that it will become easy after a while of practice, it did for me anyway. Just don't give up because it's too hard, because that's lame :P

The comments section is always open for constructive criticism, bug reports, suggestions, and other things.

If you have an idea for an atom, then post it in the comments section, and I just might add it!

Maybe it takes small amounts of damage every second so you need a way to regenerate or just rebuild it every 30 seconds, but when tennessine gets destroyed it bursts into a wave of radiation projectiles.

*You could use super fast projectiles rather than lasers

Maybe you could add tennessine as an atom that, when touched, explodes with a tremendous wave of energy, that damages enemies but not you, maybe it could have a passive radiation effect that shields you with a small range, and randomly fires high damage lasers in random directions with a somewhat large range. Only caviot would be it being maybe >1000p and using a lot of energy to do molecule magic or whatever and make it last more than a tenth of a second.
It's over nine thousandths!

By taking a few liberties with bond shapes I've made chloro[1,3-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)imidazol-2-ylidene]gold(I) and dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane, as well as a "faithful" aurothioglucose

Most of the irl molecules and compounds that could've been made with metals require metallic ions which we do not have. Maybe make ions a tradeoff? like the more "ports" an atom has, the less power it has?

Reassembly has some limitations on what you can do, I went with the more stable bonds. Though I am sad I cannot make any sulfuric acid.

When I finish "Ferns" (which will be in a while) i will get started on a great revamp of compounds, with a lot of stuff in it. Like a lot .

I'm very sad that I can't build chlorine triflourine, but the mod is still nice
Cynopolis 24 Jun, 2018 @ 10:31pm
As someone who just finished taking IB chemistry in high school, this mod is gold. It's time to make hydrochlorofluorocarbons to stay frosty, or chlorine triflouride to mess some sh*t up

Thanks, and there will be many shapes and many atoms, probably all useful ones, and all that. It will be in a while after I finish my other mod.

well I do want you to know that the phosphate problem is a small gripe of mine, i love this mod and after finding it i almost imediately downloaded the most of the rest of your mods. Can't wait for the next ones, keep it up.
