Description
UPDATED VERSION 2, HERE!► https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1839889152
============================================

A high-end mobile crafting tech that can make all blocks. Also harvests and bricks (or sells) resources and takes out most enemy techs. Handles rough terrain fine. "GSV"stands for "General Systems Vehicle".

This was primarily designed to be pretty and demonstrate a mobile version of the "CFS Perhonen" (Compact Fabrication System). It has minimal battery and generator capacity, but shouldn't need to engage enemies at close range, anyway, due to it's missile armaments and decent manoeuvrability (50mph cruising, 80mph boost).

Licenses: GSO 5, Venture 3, GeoCorp 3.

Links:

• Related crafting techs in section 11 of my Complete Crafting Guide. Examples:
Harvester bricker - efficient and capable little gatherer of rocks and renewables.
Compressed Block converter - simple tech for bulk Compressed Block conversion (manual setting).
ScrapperSellerBricker - automatically converts or turns loose or scrapped resources into Compressed blocks, selling any Components.

Function:

Uses Compressed Resource Blocks in a 'cartridge' style system; the central array of GSO Node Silos supplies the demands of the Crafting line and indicates which of the 11 GSO Scrappers have been exhausted.

Each GSO Resource Block contains 24 Chunks. So, with 6 stacked above a Scrapper, plus 2 buffered inside (invisible), that's 192 chunks waiting to go. (More than 2 full Lotsa Silos - 3x3.)

This method avoids the size and frame rate drop of an equivalent base using only Silos. Or the tedious process of figuring out which resources are needed in a smaller, mixed silo system (and manually refilling with smaller Compressed Blocks).

Usage:

(1) The Venture SCUs prevent loose GSO blocks from being sucked into the scrappers and jamming up the system.

(2) The Fabricators can be switched out for any other Corporation's. Don't try to fabricate multiple blocks at the same time that require Exotic components (it will jam the Component Factory allocation).

(3) Set Pacemaker to Turbo. :-)

(4) The top Filter can disable using resources from the scrapper array (select "Filter Nothing") whill the side Filter is normally off, but set to "Filter all" to sell all resources that would have gone to the Fabricators (so you can sell selectively by setting a Compressed block of a particular type to Fabricate).

(5) Load up the Scrappers with GSO Compressed Resource Blocks in any order, provided you are always consistent. (Suggested order marked with blocks below Scrappers.)

(6) Suggested to load a fuel type of resources in the Scrapper with a Node Silo next to the Mobile Generator, for power top-up on the go. (Or remove generator.)

System: this tech is part of a systematic way of harvesting, mining, buying, converting and using Compressed Resource Blocks. By far the best way to craft in TerraTech 0.7.8.0. See the other Workshop Techs in this collection.

These are featured in my "Complete Crafting Guide" here on Steam, or on the official forums[forum.terratechgame.com].Great if having problems, or building your own crafting system. 😊

Campaign loading:
• Subscribe to this Workshop item, above.
• Go to Creative mode in TerraTech.
• Click the "Load" button (bottom left of screen) and find it in the "Workshop" tab.
• Remove any blocks from the tech that you don't yet have in your play-through.
• Re-snapshot the tech, so it will now be stored as a local snapshot with your own techs.
• Load as normal in Campaign.

What Beauty! All that's missing is a mobile tech transporter/airport!

@DaggerFiend - absolutely, change it up! :steamhappy:

I don't think I had access to either of those when I made this tech. I don't like the articulated drills anyway, but the angled plasmas I use all the time now (for better ground clearance, etc). It is handy having a fixed drill, or something that will work passively on contact, without having to fire *all* the weapons off.

Replacing the Fixed Diamond Drill with an Articulated Drill and the Angled Jack hammer with the Angled Laser Cutter make this better for rocks IMHO:steamhappy:

Yeah, anchoring all mobile techs is a total pain in the bum.:steamsad: It's always a trade-off between ground clearance and anchors being near the ground, and the corners of the tech.

The Scrappers, however, are exactly the right number - one per Compressed Resource Block.:steammocking: This is necessary, given the way this tech works. Try it out.

Sort of troublesome to get anchored sometimes, and I feel the amount of block scrappers on it is unnecessary...

@ZeroGravitas oh i see it now. im more used to taking a complete anchored base and sticking a platform of wheels on the bottom. But by the time one has the resources to build this, i think they would have hawkeye or at least the payload terminals...
ZeroGravitas  [author] 17 Mar, 2018 @ 12:06am
Lol, @Bandit 312 - I only built it a couple weeks back.

The Component Factories are sectreted underneath (look carefully at screen shot above).

It has no Hawkeye parts on it at all so that you could use it in campaign before unlocking that corporation (to level 2). It's easy enough to swap one of the Fabricators on there for a HE version. ;-)
Bandit 312 16 Mar, 2018 @ 10:44pm
this is sorta old, please update it with component factories and a hawkeye crafter.

Happy...? OK, heh. I thin it kinda looks like a preying mantis with giant eyes that have missile launchers for eye lashes.... :cell::demoneye: But yeah, also colourful.:steamhappy:

It looks very happy! Colorful :)
