[WOTC] Conventional SPARK Rifles

Description
This was inspired by and based on [WOTC] Conventional Weapons. If you like this mod, please give the original author an upvote and check out their mod.

Changes all SPARK autocannons (and BITs) to look like their tier 1 conventional versions.

There's a config file so you can adjust the skins as you like. For example you can make all the autocannons look like the magnetic variant or mix and match them.

This is just a cosmetic mod. No stats were changed. No content was added. The config does include a section for upgrade slot counts but this is just for compatibility and has the standard values by default.

Thanks to Mr Nice for taking the time to explain some basic modding things and answer some questions.

History:
  • 16 Dec 2018 - Switched to OnPostTemplatesCreated event structure.
  • 22 Mar 2018 - Fix for Tier 2 Magnetic Autocannons showing as Magnetic Vektor Rifle instead.

Known Issues:
  • Spark weapons do not have attachment models or UI textures.

Compatibility/Overrides:
None! Just the X2DownloadableContentInfo class.

Usage:
To change which skins are used, you just have to modify the config file:
\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1331160358\Config\XComVanillaSkins.ini
  • 1 - Conventional
  • 2 - Magnetic
  • 3 - Beam
  • 0 - Default

Example:
SPARKRIFLE_CV_SKIN=3 (Tier 1 autocannon will look like an Elerium Phase-Cannon) SPARKRIFLE_MG_SKIN=1 (Tier 2 autocannon will look like a Heavy Autocannon) SPARKRIFLE_BM_SKIN=2 (Tier 3 autocannon will look like a Helix Rail-Cannon)

Weapons affected:
  • Spark Rifle
  • Spark Bit

even the sounds are right, although the reload animations don't show the clip being removed. Has it always been like this? Either way great mod

so its not possible to see weapons mods on the weapons, thats a bummer but this mod should be more popular since its the only thing that exists for this at the moment

@KhaosByDesign That's a thought. I've been following SPARK Arsenal but I haven't been playing much XCOM 2 lately. Not sure when I'd be able to get around to it, sorry.

Any chance you can do this for the SPARK Arsenal mod?

Adds some new weapons for the SPARKs but they have the three tiers too, & as with the stock weapons the conventional tier looks the best lol

@ree Should be compatible with ongoing campaigns. It doesn't add any new items, just changes which models it uses for existing ones.

@Enemy Infant Tree I don't know why it wouldn't. All this mod does is edit weapon template models/graphics after they've been created.
