VMOD Ores

Description
Ingame Desc: Sets ores to give 1:1 of material when refined. Adds new recipes to survival block including gravel sifting.

Short Description for people who are lazy;
This mod changes all ores to give 1:1 material back (But not modded ores as it isn't possible to add compatibility). This means that you will get a lot more gravel with this mod, from everything. Gravel also returns some minor ores as well making it useful to mine at the beginning when you can't find ores.

I also added several recipes to the survival kit with various efficiencies. At lower efficiencies, material is destroyed and discarded out the machine into space/onto the planet. One recipe is gravel sifting, which destroys gravel while giving you a tiny bit more ores. Useful for getting rid of gravel if you don't mind extra time being used.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I felt that ores didn't produce enough and made you search other asteroids just to find something basic. The ore system still sucks balls, because you can't make it naturally spawn in planets so my two new ores Spodumene and Zinc can not be found in -any- planets. Not to mention I can't control ore spawn rates, because that is also impossible, this one youll have to whine at KeenSWH for not including a method of spawn rates and percentages.

So, whats this mod really do? Instead of mining 1 kg of uranium ore, and getting back 0.007kg of uranium ingots and nothing else, you now mine 1kg of uranium ore and get back 1kg of materials not necessarily all uranium.

It changes the refine speeds as well to fit in line with how long it would have taken to refine those materials before so some ores will take a long time to refine, you may wish to have special refineries for them.

Here's a sheet of amounts and rates; https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1y3SeJTEiz-7Fl0OtwX2f2mrmSD6d6IRXl2CoSC-GsWc/edit

I've also disabled the efficiency module since its no longer valid. They will still cost you power and negative effects if you have them pre-built, but they will no longer produce any bonus, they multiply your efficiency by 1x which means, no gain, no loss. I did it this way, so you can install the mod in an existing server/map and can get your materials back and change it over into a speed module.

The balance may still be off, sorry about that. I'll try and adjust based on feedback. I'd like to reduce uranium respawn rates but again, its impossible. I may just have to make it give you very little uranium and tons of everything else.

Spodumene: A resource used to get Lithium. Useless without a mod that uses Lithium in it, such as my upcoming battery mod.

Zinc: A resource used to get Zinc. Useless without a mod that uses Zinc in it, such as my upcoming battery mod.

Survival Kit Update
I'll be adding three versions of multiple ores to the Survival Kit.

Fast: Takes 300 Ore, refines it rough and dirty disposing of over 60% of the materials and takes only 20% of the time to process the materials extremely inefficiently.

Basic: Takes 150 Ore, refines it more carefully and only disposes of around 25% of the materials, taking 50% of the time to process them.

Efficient: Takes 25 Ore, refines it at a slow, careful rate trying to give you 100% back.

Survival Kits can not process certain ores because the melting point is too high. It'll return Ore in those cases. Stone will also be returned from any non-stone refining. This is a balancing thing so that you can get Silicon in the event you land somewhere with no Silicon or such as Europa which is impossible to survive on without my mod because Stone doesn't exist.

Plans / Known Issues
None.

Update: I have changed the efficiencies of some things to reduce the amount of time some items take to process. This will give you more gravel with everything.

I have also removed Zinc and Lithium until such time as I find a use for it.

Oh no im sorry, i hope in the near future you'll be able to get things underway again. Your mods are really smooth and work well with others, love to see more in the future!

Unfortunately, I halted everything because I have no modeler to help me with these things.

When's that battery mod coming? Like to use all this zinc and lithium that iv collected

Update; Scrap processes 4 times faster.

I have now added Scrap to the Survival Kits as well.

This has been updated to support Survival Kits.

No worries, I edited his mod to fix the texture errors. Keen still has references in their VoxelMaterials files to DX9 texture files that don't exist, lol. Both of these mods work together, and the errors from Vis's mod were superficial.

I might look into it, but I mod for a lot of different games and I'm not in the Space Engineers mood right now. :P

I tried out Visentinel's Less Ore Mined mod with yours on a test save, loaded it above yours and its basic function seems to work. However, in the debug screen I'm getting errors relating to the texture files for ores, however all the textures appear to load fine.

I'm wondering if you like the concept for that mod. With vanilla rates, no matter how many or few drills you have it seems (I have 4 on my Survival miner, have tested huge rigs I built in Creative for testing), you find a patch of ore, start drilling, then 10-20 seconds later your cargo is full. You can come back to the vein several times and have enough of that ore for days.

With Vis's mod, it takes about a minute to load up on ore, and you have a more limited amount of ore per vein. I'm wondering if you could make a version of this mod that decreases the amount of ore mined? At least x4, but I would love something like x10 to make ore searching/mining a more prevalent mechanic.
