Description
Updates my old mod for WoTC. Rebalances the way the Psi Operative gains abilities. Includes minor balance changes to abilities and training time. Title Image is probably not fitting anymore, but for nostalgias sake ....

The Psi Operative is a unique class. While I like it's different feel, there are some problems with it. One of Xcom's coolest features is growing attached to your soldiers as they accompany you throughout your campaign. Xcom 2 encouraged this with a plethora of customization options, bonding, etc.. However because of the way Psi Operatives are trained, this doesn't apply to them. You put a rookie into the lab, some time passes, and BAM: you suddenly have an unbeatable super soldier that you didn't get to "know" at all.

Main Feature
Psi Operatives now need to attend missions to progress in Ranks. They still train in the Psi Lab, and they still dont earn "kill experience" like the other classes, but they have to participate in real life combat scenarios to advance their knowledge! A symbol in the Armory's Soldier List tells you, when a PsiOp can learn additional abilities (similar to the rank up symbol of other classes). I updated the rankup Icons and gave them a nice animation so they fit in seemlessly.

I also implemented some minor balance changes:
  • Gatekeepers are now immune to domination (autowin missions are boring)
  • I reduced the training times of the Psilab but increased the penalty when training high rank abilities early on. This means its more time efficient to train the weaker abilities first.
  • Since the balance situation in WoTC shifted towards stronger classes when compared to vanilla I removed all the other nerfs the original mod had. They can still be activated via ini edits if one wishes to do so.
  • Some players requested restricted abilitiy choices (only one ability per rank). This feature can also be activated in the mod's XComPsiRebalance.ini

Compatibility
This mod overrides UIChoosePsiAbility.

Would be nice if the psi units could get training school perks too, ya know with mission ap, felt like they got left out seeing as everyone got combat intelligence except them

Any idea how this interacts with mods that update enemies, like A Better Advent? I don't expect the PSI stuff to cause trouble, but I'm not sure how the "Gatekeeper being immune" is implemented, if it's an update on the ability side or the enemy side.

So, if I'm reading this right, there are ini lines in this mod that can be "activated" to enable the nerfs the vanilla version had.
Because I prefer my stasis to be turn ending :)

I’ve heard that the psi lab doesn’t like having more trainable skills than the number of skills available in Vanilla Xcom. Is there any way this mod can fix this?

Is it possible to increase he number of abilities that the psi lab offers you at each level up. I currently use the psi rookies mod cuz i like the psi ops having to start from the ground up like other soldiers. But when i used this mod before WOC came out the psi lab would still randomly select 3 ablities and they could be anywhere in the tree. If this is possible to fix I would so use this mod instead.
