Recruit Wanted Advisors (Imperium Universalis Version)

This mod is a version of the mod "Recruit Wanted Advisors" that is compatible with and requires Imperium Universalis.

If you own the Common Sense DLC you may know that annoying problem: You need to have one specific advisor, but it doesn't matter how often you fire an advisor, your needed advisor doesn't appear and you just wasted your money.
If you don't own the Common Sense DLC it's even more annoying, because you can't even fire an advisor and just have to wait, til one of them dies to let another one appear.

Features

With this mod, you get a national decision, which will let you choose that one advisor you need to recruit with help of events.

If you are playing with the Women in History DLC enabled, you have to choose, whether you want to recruit a male or a female advisor before choosing the skill level.

In the first event you will have to choose, whether you want to recruit an advisor, which has:
  • a skill of 1 (monarch point)
  • a skill of 2 (monarch points)
  • a skill of 3 (monarch points)

With the second event you will choose, which kind of monarch power the new advisor should give (ADM/DIP/MIL).

With the third event you will choose, which kind of advisor you want to be available to be recruited (army reformer, diplomat, ect.).

  • you have to spend 50 ducats on making an advisor with a 1 skill level available to be recruited
  • you have to spend 100 ducats on making an advisor with a 2 skill level available to be recruited
  • you have to spend 150 ducats on making an advisor with a 3 skill level available to be recruited

If you made an advisor available to be recruited, you can enact the decision in 1 year again.

After you have chosen one, the specific advisor will be available to be recruited for the standard price.

I've cleared out the documents mod folder, unsubscribed from all my eu4 mods on steam, exited steam, and then deleted the eu4 workshop folder in the steam files. Resubscribed and downloaded everything and it still hasn't worked. The only way I've found to get the mod working is to copy the files into IU's mod files instead

@Alteryx: Could it be that there still is an old version of this mod in your eu4 documents mod folder? That's where the mods were before the new launcher and they didn't get cleared out properly sometimes. And having a local mod would prevent the steam mod from working.

Update: I followed Rickter's lead and copied this mods files and pasted them directly into IU's mod files. That worked. For whatever reason loading this mod in the launcher doesn't work for some users.

Strange, all I'm using is IU, this mod, plus the gfx and banners submods. I'll try making backups and using the copy/paste method outlined by rickter below to see if its the new pdx launcher.

@Alteryx: It should work fine. There was no change for the advisors in IU nor for the effect to create them afaik.

Any chance to get this working again for IU v3.03/EU4 v1.33? Doesn't seem to have any effect.

yes it does show in the launcher and it shows correctly on the playset, i tried shifting the load order around and it did nothing, ultimately i resorted to copying the files from your mod and pasting them onto the IU file and that did the trick, i can only imagine some launcher shenanigans were afoot.

@ɌƗȻꝀŦɆɌ: The load order shouldn't really matter honestly. Does it show up in the launcher and in your playset correctly?

hello, i'm having trouble getting this to work, i've checked twice and the workshop is downloading it, the mod files seem to be ok, and it loads up fine, but for some reason once in game i can't see the decision, and i even tried forcing the event id on the console but it tells me the event id is invalid, i can only guess i'm messing something up with the load order, how should i place this, in respect to the main IU mod?
