The Crullford Fiend

Description
A challenge mod in which the player becomes possessed by a demon and races against time to exorcise it.

The mod contains:
-A new challenge with a focus on blessing/curse management.
-Nine interactions between existing encounters and the new challenge.
-Four new unlockable encounter cards.
-Five new unlockable equipment cards.

Author's Notes:
And finally my second mod is out! I can't believe it took me six weeks to get it finished, but I suppose it's my own fault for upping the bar so much. Anyhow, this mod is my first attempt at creating a new challenge for the game. I've done my best to match the design of the base game, both with the challenge and the rewards. I've added some new mechanics in the reward cards, but otherwise I've done my best to make it blend in with what's already in the game.

The challenge itself is quite difficult and may require some deckbuilding finesse. If you find it too difficult, there are several helpful interactions between existing cards and the challenge itself, hinted at in-game.

Thanks for checking out my mod, and I hope you enjoy it! :)
Feedback is greatly appreciated!

Special thanks to Cheeseness & x_equals_speed for providing ideas, feedback and playtesting as well as Gladlad for the amazing challenge art!

Can you give me some advice on how to beat this? I just completed it but failed to lose all curses due to how absurdly easy it was to obtain them. I love the mod, but I feel like even when stacking the deck in your favor, there still is a pretty good chance of getting screwed by rng

This is my absolute favourite mod for HoF2. It fits so well into the current story that it could have been in the base game and not been out of place in any way. The writing is stunning and the uniqueness to the character dialog is just amazing. The whole premise of managing your curses and blessings is done so well and the final encounter is actually difficult even excluding the fight! Has you on the edge of your seat the whole time. The spin that you added to the campfire is also so unique and I wish it did things like that in the actual game.

And yeah, I pretty much said all the same things that blank did, but I felt I also needed to write it as well. Amazing work!

If you click "load game/mods", there's a little cog next to each of your save files. Clicking on that cog will let you enable mods on that save file or create a copy of the save file with mods enabled (I'd recommend creating a copy, as achievements are disabled on modded save files).

Every time you load a modded save file, the game will show you a menu where you can select which mods you want enabled. Hope this helps, DonnyDonVito, and I hope you enjoy the mod!

How do you install this? I subscribed already, but doesn't seem to appear.
Do I need to specifically do something? Thank you for clarifying! I love this game and any add-ons are always welcomed!

Thank you Blank, both for the heart-warming feedback and for letting me know about the curse removal bug. I've fixed it and updated the mod.

I've actually been told that the bug where you survive on 0 life outside of combat is not unique to my mod, and happens in endless mode as well. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the devs fix it soon!

There were also 2 bugs I encountered. I understand there might not be much you can do on your end with the editor not working as well (or even if you have the time) but I figure you may want to know for whenever.

On "Divine Emissary" I asked to have 2 curses removed when I couldn't afford the angel's feather. Despite the cost demanding fame I didn't lose any(thing); it was a free curse removal.

On "Exorcism" it's similar to Zatharax. I died during the chance gambit but the encounter kept going. I was already at the end so I didn't transition into combat but it meant I was able to 'survive' the exorcism. I still got a Death Game Over screen at the end of the encounter but I also received the Silver Token reward for completing the challenge (for having all ingredients obtained but had 1 curse leftover).
