Can you give me some advice on how to beat this? I just completed it but failed to lose all curses due to how absurdly easy it was to obtain them. I love the mod, but I feel like even when stacking the deck in your favor, there still is a pretty good chance of getting screwed by rng

This is my absolute favourite mod for HoF2. It fits so well into the current story that it could have been in the base game and not been out of place in any way. The writing is stunning and the uniqueness to the character dialog is just amazing. The whole premise of managing your curses and blessings is done so well and the final encounter is actually difficult even excluding the fight! Has you on the edge of your seat the whole time. The spin that you added to the campfire is also so unique and I wish it did things like that in the actual game.

And yeah, I pretty much said all the same things that blank did, but I felt I also needed to write it as well. Amazing work!

If you click "load game/mods", there's a little cog next to each of your save files. Clicking on that cog will let you enable mods on that save file or create a copy of the save file with mods enabled (I'd recommend creating a copy, as achievements are disabled on modded save files).

Every time you load a modded save file, the game will show you a menu where you can select which mods you want enabled. Hope this helps, DonnyDonVito, and I hope you enjoy the mod!

How do you install this? I subscribed already, but doesn't seem to appear.

Thank you Blank, both for the heart-warming feedback and for letting me know about the curse removal bug. I've fixed it and updated the mod.

I've actually been told that the bug where you survive on 0 life outside of combat is not unique to my mod, and happens in endless mode as well. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the devs fix it soon!

There were also 2 bugs I encountered. I understand there might not be much you can do on your end with the editor not working as well (or even if you have the time) but I figure you may want to know for whenever.

On "Divine Emissary" I asked to have 2 curses removed when I couldn't afford the angel's feather. Despite the cost demanding fame I didn't lose any(thing); it was a free curse removal.

On "Exorcism" it's similar to Zatharax. I died during the chance gambit but the encounter kept going. I was already at the end so I didn't transition into combat but it meant I was able to 'survive' the exorcism. I still got a Death Game Over screen at the end of the encounter but I also received the Silver Token reward for completing the challenge (for having all ingredients obtained but had 1 curse leftover).

This is an absolutely fantastic mod; it definitely feels like something from Hand of Fate!
Having interactions between existing cards, your companions interact with the mod, and how the campfire isn't always safe are really nice touches. I liked the challenge itself too. Trying to balance risk and reward as you learn more about the cards and what cards to try and add into your deck to improve / add to your chances from replaying it-- it's all just really good!

I've looked over the mod in the editor and found nothing out of the ordinary. Hopefully just updating it will have solved the issue, but let me know if the aforementioned bug remains.

There was a huge bug. I got killed during the exorcism, but didn't die. And then was moved to a fight with no enemies.

Also, those chance gambits are really rough dude. Tone it down a bit maybe? 4 Shuffles every time is nearly impossible to follow without going full chance gambit equipment.

Unfortunately the endless mode update and the update that followed it have broken a large amount of things in the editor itself, which is likely the reason my mod isn't working properly. I've updated the mod to the newest version of the game, although I doubt it has fixed all the problems.

Unfortunately, I think the only thing we can do is sit tight and wait for the devs to fix this.

please update to the current version, the fact that this mod is for 1.2.8 makes the mod literally unplayable. If the game is not in the correct version, you can not use the mod correctly. For example, you can not save progress. Please update it.

Apologies to everyone who downloaded this mod when I originally published it yesterday. It turned out that due to a problem in the editor I couldn't update my mod, so I was forced to delete and republish the whole thing in order to be able to update it again.
