Description
To celebrate Earth Day I've assembled this power-efficient scout rover.

Doggo Scout is a compact, versatile vehicle that can transform into a flyer. You can customize its loadout and add more weapons or equipment on the little winglets. The cockpit and wheels are well armored, but overall it's a light scouting vehicle.

It has good handling and it's fun to drive. If you run into impassable terrain, you can take to the air. While you are flying, the lower chassis will collect and store solar power for you.

This is the vehicle I intend to use when I scout some of Doctor Octoganapus rough custom planets.

Doggo pilot manual:

To transform into a flyer – press 3 to activate thrusters, then press 1 to detach.
Do the opposite when re-attaching.
The flyer will glide like an airplane with no retro thrusters.
You can activate the beacon if you are worried of being unable to find the lower part while you're in the air.

Hopefully this design will inspire some of your builds.

It's almost a year now since I've written and, with Keen's encouragement published an action science fiction novel based on Space Engineers. It's titled: "Janitors of the Late Space Age". Summer is close - if you are looking for something to read you can get it from Amazon as an electronic book or paperback.

@Texan Shober With A Shotgun in parka's book Janitors of the Late Space Age he describes the ships built by the space-born peoples of the asteroid belt as being bathyscaphes, so basically space submarines I guess.

Bork. And Bathyscaphes are... Submarines right?

We need more bathyscaphes on the workshop and the only two are made by parkasever!

I took this blueprint and put it on the moon to find it only had atmospheric engines. So I stripped it down and made them hydrogen. It's much heavier but more able to deal with any environment. I did add another battery to the rover part as well.

This may be too 'pricy' to you but I'm at a point in my survival game where that's not much of an issue. If you're interested in the hydrogen version of the doggo, I'm willing to share it.

I tried to stay true to your design. Looks mostly the same. :)

@Prebz - It's related to material cost in survival mode. There is no definite math behind it, but I try to compare the size/effectivness with how "expensive" components I use. This model has two batteries, so I guess this means it is a bit more pricey than I would like it.

question, so whats the deal with the cost and the 3 dots after i dont have a frame of reference for them so what do they mean in cost? What does 1 dot mean whats does 5 mean?
