Description
"Earth will always be our home" -PFC Daniel Martins, CoM Marines on the Destruction of Europa VII.

This addon civic to Origins Civics makes any species, portrait, and trait combination that uses this civic have Earth as their homeworld (thus lower habitability on their start planet) and be considered the same species as the owner of the Earth. It is best used when Earth is force spawned, but can be used standalone (that is no Earth is spawned, the mod will spawn one). When running standalone Humans created via the Lost Colony civic will not recognize Earth as their home (unless they are the default CoM).

This mod was originally test code for a potential update to the Lost Colony civic. However, it generates multiple of the same species if your empires have the exact same portraits, names, and traits. This code should inherit all of the effects of the Lost Colony civic and is a demonstration of using the scripted trigger technique discussed by the base mod. Therefore, any aliens with this civic will be recognized as the same species with unique dialogue and events provided by the Lost Colony civic. There are still issues with the localisation text calling out the wrong species name which I hope to address when I update the communication dialogue for Origins Civics.

Features:
  • Colony of Earth: Forces homeworld to be Earth and Earth's owners to be primary species. This species will be a subspecies of the owner of Earth. Inherits the Lost Colony civics events.
  • Colony of Man: Forces homeworld to be Earth, Earth's owners to be primary species, and planetary preference to be continental regardless of planet type chosen (can start on desert world with continental preference). Inherits the Lost Colony civics events.

Compatibility:
  • Compatible with 2.0.*
  • You need Origins Civics to run this mod. This mod only contains the civics file and a scripted trigger file. All of the base mod code is in Origins Civics.
  • Overwrites the scripted trigger is_cbshing_origins_colonies_of_earth_addon in Origins civics.
  • See Origins Civics for any other compatibility issues.
