Kings and Politics: A Tale of Terrible Wars and even more Terrible Men

KAP: TWTM is an overhaul for Thrones of Britannia, aiming to create a more dynamic and challenging campaign.
This currenty includes:

- Characters, Loyalty and Politics Overhaul
- Trait Overhaul
- Skilltree Overhaul
- More Punishing Wars
- Economic Tweaks & Harder Late-game
- Harder Sieges
- And more!

The mod's main goal is to create a campaign with interesting characters and much more challenging wars with consequences.
Every character should be more distinctive now, as he gains 8 characterizing traits from the very start, which will define his person and what use you have of him. The wars will be tougher, with greater penalties from war fevour, famine and bankruptcy.

I will now go over the six headlines I mentioned before, and go into detail what each means:

Characters, Loyalty and Politics Overhaul
- The values for Loyalty has been overhauled. You will find it harder to keep your character's loyal, since nearly every negative value have been increased. You will especially notice this in the late game, as the greater you kingdom is, the less loyal your men become! This will trigger more civil wars and internal conflicts.

-The maximum influence of a character has been increased from 10 to 50 - your king is no longer secure, just because he has 10 estates!

- Improved Family Tree. The base child chance has been increased for both legitimate and illilegimate children. Women will first be barren at the age of 50 now. The amount of maximum children has also been increased.

-Increased the chance of politic dilemmas

Trait Overhaul
My trait overhaul from Total War: Attila has returned! It is a directly converted from Attila, so there'll be the same traits as before.
For the full description click the link: https://steamhost.cn
The old trait system has been completely removed, besides from those traits which are scripted. In my trait overhaul, you'll get 8 traits from 8 different categories upon character creation. You'll not gain a single new trait afterwards. This system was made to remove the akwardness of when your character suddenly turns out to be hideous after 7 turns for no reason.

The trait categories are: 1. Physical, 2. Mind, 3. Personality, 4. Army management, 5. City Management, 6. Weapon Skills, 7. Wealth and 8. Bonus Trait
The mod adds in 100+ traits(123 to be exact; 19 physical, 17 mind, 19 personality, 19 army management, 19 city management, 19 weapon skills, 3 wealth and 8 bonus...)

So there's principally 1.010.248.392 Uniqe combinations.... PRINCIPALLY. Some traits are more rare, so take this knowledge with a grain of salt...

These traits will grant great benefits and penalties for your characters, so study wisely what characters are suited to be your governor or general.

Skilltree Overhaul
I have made 8 completely new followers, with more useful bonuses than before. These are(with my descriptions from in-game):
1. Veterans
Hiring veterans will increase the training of this army’s soldiers, thus creating more hardened men.

2. Household
Building a household for this man will not only increase his loyalty, but also create fame and trading goods.

3. Recruiters
Recruiters will roam roads and inns, increasing the workforce or recruits available to you.

4. Agents
Agents will sabotage those who are opposed to you. Having a strong underground network will too increase the influence this man has.

5. Supply Managers
Supply managers will increase the resources available to you, by creating rations without making anyone unhappy.

6. Economists
Economists will handle economic affairs for you and will cut the right edges to decrease the expenses.

7. Strategists
Strategists will create more efficient unit formations, increasing the march speed of the men and their will in combat.

8. Blacksmiths
Blacksmiths will smith tools and armour in the highest quality.

The attribute effects has been changed aswell and zeal has been renamed to "fame".

More Punishing Wars
A long war will eventually tear your kingdom apart. There will now be greater penalties for unprepared warmongers:
- The penalties of negative war fevour has now become an actual threat. War fevour will now affect your: Income, food, loyalty and add a diplomatic penalty. There has also been added a diplomatic bonus for positive war fevour

- Famine is now also a greater threat, which could completely ruin your faction. The attrition has been made much worse and the income will decrease too, simulating how your starved peasants refuse to work. There's also been added increased public order for food surplus

- Bankruptcy now greatly affects loyalty and morale

-Increased max attrition pct. from 15% to 50%. Your can now go down in half a year.

-Made raiding now gives you more supplies and lower the upkeep of the troops, making it more important

- The effects of fame AKA 'Great Power Penalty' has been overhauled. Being a great power now grants you a diplomatic bonus, since everyone wants to be allied to a great power - however, a great kingdom is bound to have internal conflicts. The greater the kingdom, the more illoyal your men will become and the more will corruption increase.

Economic Tweaks & Harder Late-game
Despite the corruption already should weaken the economy in late-game, I have still done some extra tweaks.
- First of all, the food consumption of major settlements has been doubled, so look out for that
- The income from all buildings has been halved, however the income from trade has been doubled, making you more reliable on trading partners.
- For every major settlement you own, the income of every single unit will be increased by 10%. Doing wild conquests might bankrupt you, if you're not careful.

Harder Sieges
For now just means doubled garrisons for major settlements. You will now be required to wait them out, as in a real siege, no more blitzkrieg.

"And More"
- Better veterans. Having experienced soldiers now means a great deal.
- Unlimited Governors
- Made everyone able to form confederations

To-do/Future Plans
- I am currently working on a V 2.0 of my trait mod, with 12 categories and proper triggers, like inheritable traits, a uniqe trait for faction leaders, determining how well they will rule, etc.
- Maybe something more to alter the "harder sieges" part.
- Make estates have more impact

Do you have any suggestions?
Feel free to give me feedback! :)

I have spend a lot of time making this mod, so please, enjoy it ^^

Doesn't launch. I don't think Shieldwall would be interested in this. They take very different directions. The character system here is very complicated and is probably going to take weeks to fix.

That's too bad. Have you thought about turning any of your work over to the Shieldwall team? They're a major mod that still updates.

is this working @Thezuma?

Will this make it so the men you make into governors won't automatically turn into ungrateful bastards whose Loyalty goes down to '2' the very instant they become governors?

@Noego I sadly don't have time for modding anymore, so yes, consider it abandoned.

Hello. It looks like an interesting modification to the game, one of the best I could find here. I really would like to try it, but it won't launch. Is there any update from the author coming soon? Or is it officially abandoned and we shouldn't expect any updates?

@Jesus_Christ Sorry to disappoint you, but the mod is not up-to-date, nor am I really interested in modding ToB anymore

@💝Silver_Knight_⚔ It's not even compatible with the game...
