Description
Drive the Cornish Scot on its first leg to Carlisle, a chance for a fast run if you can negotiate the traffic in the Glasgow area first. Duration : 95 mins Difficulty : Easy

To allow for workshop limitations the 318s, 117s, 150s and 105s have been replaced with 156s, all Scotrail liveried loco hauled services have been replaced with BR blue stock, a number of locomotives have been removed, and frieght traffic variation has been simplified to ensure the scenario has no third party stock and minimal DLC requirements.

Note: Your motive power is an HST set, you need to use the white speed limit boards not the yellow ones, (Some route knowlege will give you an advantage) if you speed you will be checked by reds, If you complete the run without being checked by red signals give yourelf a pat on the back and treat yourself to an iced bun from Greggs, you drive like a real train driver! No signals in this scenario are bugged, you dont have to TAB through any of them.

Hi Matt. WOW! What can I say? That was an absolutely amazing drive for me, on the WCML Nth. I have never seen so much traffic on the route before. Looks like the signalling controllers in their Power Boxes, had their hands full, ha ha . The Scenario was well put together, there was never a dull moment for my trip anyway. In fact I got to a point where I was guessing what kind train was coming next. HA HA. Thanks for sharing this Excellent Scenario. Even though the route is not as busy in reality, your imagination I have no issue with, my friend. Thanks again. Best Wishes. :steamhappy:

Ein gutes langes Szenario, mit viel AI Verkehr, schade dass der neue AP Pack hier nicht wirkt.
Danke.

Despite not speeding, I arrived into Carlisle to see Service 55, a Class 156 depart towards the Settle-Carlisle line. Nice extra touch for the speeders. :p

A more serious question, how do you even out the power and coasting? I'm a little "too good" at occupying myself keeping myself within 1mph of the speed limit. Doing that allowed me to gain on the blocker train you placed at Lockerbie to Carlisle.

Other than that, excellent scenario, so much traffic, and extremely busy with lots of variety! I love scenarios where the AI traffic is "unrealistically" busy. So busy it was like the blitz at Glasgow! Now to get myself a well-earned cup of tea...

What rule says AI "must" run to a real timetable? I know what the actual traffic density of this route is and if it was followed it would be a very boring trip indeed ... please dont subscribe to any more of my scenarios.

No sir - the A1 trains must have a real timetable - normal there will not be a pax train every 3 minuts or less
MaTT  [author] 25 Jun, 2013 @ 1:17pm
eh? you do have a timetable.
